Default Worthy of rescue bugeye

In late October of our current year, 2018 that is, I came across a for sale thread for a clean looking bugeye here on Nasioc. I private messaged the previous owner expressing interest and requested additional information. In a matter of weeks the seller and I had an agreement and the 02 bugeye became mine.

The car was in Alabama, having a broken timing belt meant I would have to have it transported to New York, where the car is now.

I was excited as soon as I saw it in person for the first time. The car is completely rust free and all original with only a few exceptions. Here are the pictures I took the day it arrived after it came off the transport.

The car will be a toy, I plan on holding on to it and preserve it. It will only be driven on good weather days and will not be driven on salted roads. The car arrived in late November and sat till last week when I had some time to start working on it. The previous owner had decided to sell the car after timing belt failure. Knowing that was the problem I went at it and here is what I found.

And thatís where we are at the moment, a seized cog bearing caused the right side intake cam gear to implode. Chances are there are bent valves.
I actually want to install a cam gear and timing belt and try to start it to see if itíll run. Iím prepared to remove the heads if needed and see where I go from here. Iím trying to find a working right side intake cam gear and timing belt to install and try to start the motor. If you have the parts I need and have no use for them Iíd appreciate it if you can donate them or let me borrow them.
I did pick up a used FP HTA68 that I plan to use after it goes for rebuild.
