Dashboard and Interior Material Cleaning???
Hi,
For those of you with a VA2 chassis WRX or STI, what have you used to clean the rubber dashboard on your cars? I have never cleaned the dashboard since I purchased the car new, and it has a white-ish film in sunlight that I have thought about cleaning, but am afraid to use the wrong cleaner or detergents. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Use this on the dash, all the hard plastics, and the soft rubber door seals. |

If you feel as though there is a buildup of crud on the dash, old dirt and dust, or an accumulation of previous interior dressings that you've used, it's a good idea to clean it FIRST before adding more dressing. A water damp microfiber just might do the trick. If you need a little cleaning ability, spray your microfiber with an all purpose cleaner diluted in strength. Meguiar's has a gallon jug of All Purpose Cleaner that is concentrated. You mix it 10:1 in a spray bottle. It can be used for tons of cleaning needs, in the car or in the home. May be the last cleaner you buy for a while!
After that, Aerospace 303 (mentioned above) or another UV protectant dressing would be added. Some dressings have the level of gloss listed on their label; satin, flat, glossy, etc. |

I have never cleaned the dashboard or even wiped it since new. The car was purchased November 2018, and currently has 2600 miles lol. This will be the first wipe down of anything interior. |

I've had great luck with Griot's interior cleaner:
https://www.griotsgarage.com/product...ior+cleaner.do but I also keep a clean microfiber towel in the car and wipe it clean often |

A mild soapy-water mixture is generally recommended by vehicle manufacturers.

The only issue I had was getting the wipes out of the container. It had a seal over it, and took seal off, the cloths are connected, but having problems getting out of the spout. I open up, got a couple ripped off, and tried it on my car's dash.

I like the Armor All cleaning wipes for daily stuff, I keep some in the trunk. And for detailing that 303 is good, but I like Chemical Guys Inner Clean:

I'm a fan of the Meguiars Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner as I used to use it when I was detailing cars. It will clean the dust off, but it will save your conditioner towel to wipe down with a wet microfiber first. And get a good detailing brush for crevices if you dont want to look like an amateur.

As far as actual cleaning goes I just use a microfiber damp with warm water. After that I wipe it down with aerospace 303.

The new rubber dashes are crap to clean. On my regular impreza I tried CarPro Pearl to add some slickness. It made the cleaning a bit easier. I have yet to find a towel that does not grab like a magnet.

I have been using it LIQUI MOLY KUNSTSTOFF-TIEFEN-PFLEGER for a long time. This product is a classic plastic cleaner with a revitalizing effect. I use it as well as in everyday life.
It has anti-static and dirt-repellent effect.https://grilliam.com/ Last edited by Antony44; 04-06-2020 at 04:56 AM. |

I use a Swiffer duster on that spot first. It helps a lot with the majority of the dust and dirt. Then I do the microfibre cloth with a gentle soap and warm water. Seems to work well and then you can do whatever protective stuff afterwards.

This is great means for cleaning. Indeed. If you want to do it on your own. But if you have no idea or time for this, rather a great variant is to ask professional help to make everything perfect. Why not save time and money? Last edited by LenaGaleana; 04-27-2021 at 03:39 PM. |

Hello everyone here, guys. Well, as for me, I usually use Simple Green - Deck + Fence cleaner and Karcher for outdoor surfaces, and I guess that you can also try any of these pressure washer soaps and detergents. I just thought that this article can help you to compare different variants and then make the best decision after it. I hope that it will help you a little bit. You will be able to order anything on Amazon.

In the heat here, I really like the 303 but really prefer the finish of Einzett Cockpit Cleaner which was recommended to me over on some detailing forums. It has the most natural finish and the looks clean and new. The 303 tends to get a bit too shiny for me, but the UV protection is nice. It really works well on the plastic pieces in the engine compartment.
