Default Getting CEL 2004, after taking off intercooler to clean and replacing air filter

P2004 "Intake Manifold Runner, Control Stuck" Bank 1 (01/03)

This popped up after replacing my airfilter with a dry drop-in AEM version. I also took off the intercooler to clean it after painting the hood.

I'm going through all the posts related to this and they are older posts with no definitive answers, so I'd like to see if anyone has any advice.

Car is stock powerwise. I'm thinking this has something to do with wiring as it was difficult to get the intake open to put the filter in and I might have pulled something loose.

any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Go back over what you did, make sure the air filter box is installed/closed correctly.

Oh, I wonder if you've broken one of the connectors to the TGV's ?

If all you did was replace an OEM dry drop-in filter with the same type of a different brand, then there should not be an issue.

If all you did was remove and replace your TMIC, then there should not be an issue.

If you getting issues, then you either did not connect something back properly or you broke something.
There should have been few to none wiring disconnects you needed to do. All this was straight forward.

Re-check over everything you did and look for any loose wires or hoses not connected.

i fixed it and it was unrelated to the actions I posted about above. I went under the car and saw that the connector to the TGV was corroding and had oil on it. I changed the oil and I spilled a little while pouring it in and the connector is right in the line of fire. so I cleaned it up and the CEL disappeared for good.
