Problem with car after down pipe install and stage 2 tune..
So I installed an invidia down pipe and went from the Cobb stage 1 ots tune, which ran fine, to the stage 2 ots tune.
Now the turbo is extremely loud and clearly spooling but I'm not getting any boost, I thought I installed the inter cooler incorrectly so I double checked that and made all the piping nice and snug. I have data logs that I'll upload when I get home. I'm doing lots of searching of the forums but would like someone to look at my personal logs if possible. I don't want to kill my turbo. My TD boost error number are really high. I will upload data logs in a couple hours. What gauges should I be monitoring for boost leak etc?

I am not an expert, but I play one on the internet
First, change back to Stage1 OTS, and see if the problem is still there. If so then check your vacuum connections between the wastegate/boost control solenoid/intake, and the electrical connections with the solenoid too. Not for leaks, but to make sure they are connected correctly. There are plenty of diagrams on here, google is your friend. While you are at it make sure the vacuum line and return hose for the BOV are correct and airtight. Just to be sure, usually one of the first things that people notice with an aftermarket downpipe is that you can now hear the turbo spool. Is it the spooling you hear? Like a tiny jet engine speeding up? or is the sound more mechanical? |

Thanks for the response I’m in the garage now about to take a look at everything then post logs.
The turbo spoiled before I know what the turbo sounds like but now it’s like crazy loud and I actually really like the noise but I think it’s actually spoiling much more than it should because it’s so so loud and I’m not getting any power from it. My TD boost error was like 36 the other day and now it’s lower but either way I’m not getting boost. I’ve read about the WG actuator arm, the WG duty gauge shows movement but maybe that’s false. I did install it by myself and it wasn’t easy getting every lined up and completely possible that I hit something off or open the process Thanks again for the response. Also the o2 sensor was completely black with soot, I wanted to clean it but read that wasn’t a good idea, so I just blew compressed air at it but I really hope I just popped something off by accident |

So I have found that the circle gasket that goes from the inter cooler and connects right to the turbo is missing, must have fallen off, would that cause any of these issues?

yeah that would definitely be a good cause for it- turbo is spooling up but the air is being pushed out in a massive boost leak.

That appears to be the issue, everything is running as it should, got boost up to 17psi, but unfortunately not having that gasket did make the turbo waaay louder as the turbo now sounds back to its normal self, really not that much louder than stock, I just hope I didn’t do any long term damage to the turbo as I did try to keep the car out of boost once I realized something was wrong but there were times that I spooled up the turbo big time before I realized something was wrong, I mean it sounded like a jet engine lol which was actually cool but it was the sound of the turbo heading towards oblivion

If you want more sound and a lil more power (maybe, no promises) get the Cobb SF intake |
