Subaru Stars Wrx 2004 STI usdm definitions issue.

Hi,

I have a Wrx 2004 STI usdm, I successfully connect to the ECU and read the ROM image with Ecuflash but says that I don't have the definition file for the image, I try the defaults definitions that brings Ecuflash, and download the latest from romraider forums, and both doesn't work, this are the steps I follow:

Steps:

1) Connect green connectors under stering wheel.
2) Turn key to position 2.
3) Test mode activated because fan cycle and check engine light flash.
4) Open Ecuflash and select vehicle DBW STi/FXT/LGT/Baja 2004.
5) Press the read from Ecu's flash memory button.
6) Hit the ok in the ignition prompt.
7) Ecuflash delay about a minute to read the memory.
8) Ecuflash reports that the operation was success then press ok.
9) Ecuflash says Unknown ROM Image because no definitions is found.

Things I try:

Compare a base rom found in romraider forums to the ECU's image and this is the report:

Any one can give a light on this?

Default

Hey everyone,

I will let this useful info here, the image on my ECU is a XPT2710J this internal ID corresponds to a XPT stage 2 map for the A2ZJ710J because the internal ID Ecuflash and Romraider was unable to read the ROM, the osecuroms forum have the definitions file but its in a private area and because the latest owner in US is who brought I'm screwed because I cant improve the map to fix my problems, so I send a mail to the XPT guys explaining all the situation asking for the def files its a matter of time to have luck to get the def files or get back to stock map to do this its just matter to reflash.

Default mayyyybe youre still subscribed...

hey I realize its a good number of years later but I'm potentially about to be in a very similar situation with the same year and model... if you're still subscribed I'd love to hear more.

I just discovered I can't pull the current tune from my car (usdm 04 sti) with the cobb ap i just bought so I'm looking into the tactrix stuff to see if I could grab the current tune data from the eeprom and be able to write it back in later.

As I understand it, the def file is an xml file used to parse the eeprom data into the readable tables and metrics in the editing program is that right?

Does romraider require a defintiions file at all to write the same old tune to the ecu? I imagine it doesnt....

thanks
