New Movies - Knockaround Guys, The Transporter
Has anyone seen either of these two movies? Are they any good? I am looking for good car chases and shootouts.

I just got done watching the transporter. It was a pretty good action movie. I am just not a big fan of old Bmws and Peugot 206s. I hate 206s and they were everywhere in that movie. The driving scenes were kind of unreal too.........A stock 206 cant stick with any car! I dunno its a good action flick but not the best.

I thought the first half of transporter was great; good action sequences, cool car chases, etc. The second half was just plain bad. The entire lack of a solid plot became more obvious and I ended laughing at the movie as it became increasingly more painful.

you laughed at it too? everyone in the theater laughed at the transporter during the second half...it was truly a bad movie...the action sequences leave a lot to be desired...i mean, almost every damn one of them took place in a confined area like a hallway, between two parked buses, etc...a decent idea, a bad plot, horrible script, horrible directing, horrible acting (statham was ok but the chinese girl was horrible)
knockaround guys was absolutely horrible, not even worth renting if you ask me...great actors, any of qhich have the potential to carry a film...but it's a bunch of great actors that apparently read a different script than the finished product...there's a reason this was held up for about 16 months, because it sucked...no amount of editing improved it |

I saw knockaround guys also. It was so-so, ( I wouild wait for the rental/download also) I also like all the guys minus Seth green. I don;t much like him either, but I was surprised at Vin D. I thought it really showed that he could act first and be a tough guy second, and does both well, which I was surprised with. It will take him a while to shrug off the TFTF, but when he does, I hope he does more than the average Arnold action movie.

Just saw the Transporter last night. GO SEE IT! It was like a cool blend of the BMW Films, Ronin, and The Professional.
Well worth the money! -tim |

Knockaround Guys
Saw Knockaround Guys and kind of liked it. I like the fact that it portrayed the darker side of the Mob, not just all the money and girls. Malkovich and Harper were not at their best and they often felt more eastern European that Italian, with their accents. As far as Diesel I thought he was decent in this flick. I like him in movies as a supporting actor, but as the main character he cannot carry the plot. XXX is a good example of this. I thought he was also pretty good in TFATF.
If you want to see a truly wierd movie go see The Rules of Attraction. |

i liked the transporter, except when it started trying to develop a plot they should've jsut stayed away from that. and i thought it was kinda cool seeing all the 206's getting smashed to bits.

Transporter was cool. I just could not over the fact that "Turkish" from Snatch was played by the same dude. Haha.
