Default Cast vs. Stainless exhaust housings. pro's and con's.

So what's the deal with these? I remember awhile ago God was using stainless housings on there cars...or they were selling them or something. I believe they claimed the stainless housings lowered spool time. Was this due to the smoother airflow, the properties of the metal, or something else? What is a con to running stainless?

I know the big turbo manufacturers use cast, and that must be for a reason, but I would like some insight on stainless. Doesn't stainless have a lower...umm...temperature capability? Isn't stainless a 'softer' metal? I'm just trying to gain knowledge, and start some discussion about the differences, specifically for turbo exhaust housing use.

thanks!
