Talking Sac Meet & Drive, "Drive" being the operative word!

Before the summer ends (along with the good weather) I figured we should have another drive. A Saturday or Sunday would be best so more people that want to come can make it.

This thread is just to get the ball rolling and get some ideas from everyone.

Date & Time
1) Saturday, September 27
2) Sunday, September 28
3) Saturday, October 4
4) Sunday, October 5
5) Saturday, October 11
6) Sunday, October 12
I threw up a few dates because I know UCD starts up around the end of September and we don't want to give Dorifto any excuses to miss this one!

Location
I think Mosquito Ridge is out due to all of the Erik Estrada action going on up there. Here are a couple of suggestions, feel free to add more:

1) Wentworth Springs Road - stop for lunch (picnic) somewhere along Ice House: http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/WentworthSpringsRd.htm

2) Lake Berryessa - picnic out past Spanish Flat. The drive from Sac to Winters will be boring, but 128 to Knoxville is a blast. We can plan to hookup with the North Bay Subies too.
http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/Hwy128LkBrsy.htm
http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/BerryessaKnoxville.htm

3) Or we could try one of the roads out past Nevada City. There's a couple we can combine.
http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/TylerFooteRd.htm

Throw out some ideas and we'll see if we can get this going in the next few weeks.

Yes, DRIVE. We don't need a meet were you stand around checking out each other's engine. We all know what the boxer looks like

How about we do one route on each weekend?

I vote for Wentworth or the last one... there is too much boat/SUV/camper traffic on the weekends near Berryessa and almost no place to pass (unless you're Steve).

The weekend (any weekend) works for me though.

I'm down for the drive - except I may be trunk lid swappin' the 13th, busy the 20th and coming back from Vegas Oct 4.

But Sundays look good!

Is there a Krispy Kreme on any of those routes? Maple crunch donuts,

I highly recommend lotus road vs highway 193, its got a great section of sequential sweeping hairpins in a neat area.

But if its a weekend, I cant make it... I guess im screwed for a few months in terms of meets

Sounds good then. I guess we can meet off 80. Like Golf Land or Sun Splash (whatever the hell that place is called) @ 4:30. Let me know if that works for you.

28-September works for me, with a possible 27th, also. Any of the above roads/destinations is fine by me. We dodged the proverbial bullet on that last Mosquito Ridge Rd drive, as far as no citations and no accidents.

Damnit! I'll be in Vegas.

Let me know how it turns out.

Go to the link for the third one. There's a link on that page to a connecting road - Pleasant Valley Road. It basically connects Tyler to HWY20. Looks like you could make a nice long drive out of it.

Bring your Mountain Bike - you'll be right down the road from Downieville. Just be more careful than I was last time: over 1 year later and I still have the scar!

Im going to stand on the sidelines and let you guys figure out which route and when.

I'm down to go though... i'll hunt down Mike in EG and make sure he comes too because we live in the same neighborhood now. No backing out of this one saying you're going to SJ!

eric

Maybe i'll bring my Robinson M96 too so we can go plinking in the Ice House area just have to make sure i have point so we can "get-rid" of those that are in our way.

You probably DO need to hunt him down. I don't think mike even read these threads - the word "Drive" probably scares him away

Yeah! It is bad ass!

Last time Bemani and I hit that road we started from Salmon Falls and then up through Georgetown to Wentworth to Ice House to 50! Very very nice run. Just make sure your brakes are up to par, i.e. maybe some new brake fluid with a higher boiling point.
