Built motor and a VF39?

Is this a rally car or something?

Yes I blew the motor last November and built it with my final turbo in mind, Dom 3 or 4, HTA Green, or an ATP 3076 or possibly the new ATP 35.

When I was done with the build I simply didn't have the money for the new turbo, and I need to save up again for the doomed tranny,

Gotcha! That makes sense. So you already had the turbo and everything, you just replaced the motor?

So what do you think of the new motor, pros and cons? I have to ask because I'll eventually be doing that, and it's not often that people do JUST the motor.

I wouldn't say the cams are killing it with that turbo. I'm assuming heads are stock (correct me if I'm wrong), and if that's the case, you're not using the cams to their full potential. Get some more airflow head-wise and those cams might just shine.

I bought the EWG UP and a Tial EWG, the rails, injectors, and inlet when the motor was out since it would be the easiest time to do these mods. I also deleted and ported the TGVs while they were out.

The full motor build is:
Wiseco 100mm Pistons
ACL Race Bearings
Helix Forged Rods
Brian Crower SS Valves
Brian Crower Springs and Retainers
ARP Head Studs
Cosworth Cams

DSG did the motor work for me which was nice, dropped off an assembled long block and picked it up the same. The motor hates timing, which doesn't seem to be a bad thing since I am still making the correct amount of power running less timing. The only draw back to the forged internals is it doesn't like running when cold and is pretty noisy on cold starts, which the knock sensor picks up if the coolant is in the <130ºF range. Other than that is seems fine and the cams sound good at idle

My turbo list above is just that, minimum 52lbs turbo. I will not push the limits of the motor, because I do need it to last. I am only looking for about 380-430 whp out of the car and will most likely run it less for normal driving via turning down the boost.

They were opened a little, but again I was running out of money fast with the build so I skipped a full PnP job.

Yes the cams are avcs and yes I am running avcs. Cosworth has a couple different cam options depending on the motor you are running.

Keep asking, doesn't bother me. Helps clarify things for other readers.

I'm not a fan on water/meth injection. I would rather leave some on the table and then have a race fuel map for when I want to get on it, ie when I am at the track.

I am already running about 21psi in the mid range and then tapering to 15psi at redline.

I am up in the air about what to do, I am not sure if I will go moded stock manifold or after market manifold. I would be more inclined to port mine myself since I already have an egt probe in mine.

Rene
We can always tap an egt for you if you wish. We'll even take your tapped cores back as long as it is tapped in the correct position(driver side).

Yeah it is tapped on the driver's side. Like I said though, I am still up in the air as to which way I will be going in terms of a manifold. I will keep you guys in mind when the time comes though.
