Sauber traffic lights and front wings.

FIF1 gearbox and exhaust.

Williams front brakes appear to be using a nearly-Monaco spec front duct. The rear wing appeared to be straight from Monaco.

Conor Daly.

Sky TV presenters in a trio of Peel P50s.

Lewis Hamilton was being interviewed for Al Jazeera TV. He also appears to have a bit of a cold.

Ill be in Germany next week and there's a chance I might be carrying full media accreditation. I need help with the forms, though.

British summer rain denies Rossiter

James Rossiter will not contest Friday's first practice at Silverstone as Force India revealed his outing was dependent on a dry track.

The American was scheduled to make his grand prix debut at the British GP,

replacing Adrian Sutil in first practice.

However, as the rain came down on Thursday evening and had not let up into Friday morning, the team opted to keep him out of the car.

"The wet track means that, unfortunately, James Rossiter won't get the previously announced FP1 run," Force India Tweeted.

"His work was dependent on dry conditions."

Sutil will therefore be back in the car alongside Paul di Resta with Force India vowing to find another opportunity for Rossiter.

"The team will evaluate other future opportunities for James to drive the VJM06, in conditions that will be more representative for the sim," the team concluded.
It may not mean much, but having another American in an F1 car would be nice to see.

No...since I've never been published, I need the guy who's helping me get access to help also with the forms. I don't know all of his business details (address, readership numbers, etc.).

I should be in the paddock shooting tomorrow. I shot at Stowe in FP1 and Farm (looking toward Abbey) in FP2. I'm pretty tired, but starting the review process now. Pics later if I don't get too tired.

So some pics:

The lack of FP1 action really limited my variety, so I'll try for more tomorrow if I'm not stuck in the paddock all day.

Marussia measuring exhaust airflow to the rear of the floor:

Kimi trialed the rear wing stalling device that has been in development for over a year:

Merc running the usual thermal sensors on the front wing:

It's stupidly ironic that Mclaren advertise Vodafone's 4G speeds on their slow car, especially since I *have* Vodafone mobile service and it's crap. I couldn't get a line out all day.

I'm really happy with the sharpness on this one!

Contrails:

My favs of the day:

Dude, those panning shots look really good!

What are the unmarked tires on the Lotus and Merc?

I expect hard-hitting investigative reporting.

I will settle for racecar porn and pit girls.

I'll do my best to meet everyone's needs.

I'm home now and starting to review the 1900 shots from today. If I didn't get a clear shot of a Lotus flinging sparks I'm going to flip out.

I got a few decent shots. I ran 1/5000th to 1/6400th shutter speeds all day. Massively excited for Lewis's pole position! The crowd is going to completely lose control if he wins tomorrow.

Look at the tire distortion...
