Question Windshield wiper wing thinga-ma-jig

So, RS drivers, how does that cool spoiler on your windshield wipers work? Is it effective? How does it attach? Specifically, is it something that I could add to the 2.5GT? The blades on the Legacy definitely start to get light at highway speeds, so it would be nice to have one of those airfoil things on my wipers to keep them planted (assuming it actually works).

Give me the 411, my brothers.

I am assuming that they work. I have one on my RS and I have never been hassled by that annoying water streak. So to answer your question, Yes it does work, and Yes you should get one. Plus it just just looks cool.

I have always had them on whichever car I drive.. Honda Accord (91 and 97) and this RS. If I were you I'd wait until the meet, and ask one of us to take swap wiper arms just to see if they're the same lengths, spline count, etc... it's just a splined shaft with a nut on top...

To answer your question about how it is attached...They are riveted on the wiper arm.

Interestingly I know of an RS or 2 that came without one from the factory?

Well, that kinda sucks, Don, I was hoping they just clipped on rather than actually being rivetted.

Unfortunately, I won't be at the meet - I'll already be down in VA visiting friends before going to the Quattro Club open track event. Oh well, I'll have to see if I can find an RS around here to take a look at.

Thanks, guys!

Ya I posted a while back looking for some of those. I need one for my 97' L and one for my dads 99 Legacy GT. They really work well when you're driving 60mph + in the rain, they help keep the wiper against the windshield to help ya see.
If anyone knows how / where to get them please PM me!!!
