My mpg meter on the dash has been consistently anywhere from 2 to 4.5 mpg optimistic. At least, compared to my odometer and gps data it is. I only trust the fuelly data:

And even then, cost per mile is all I really care about: $0.121.

2013 Impreza Sport wagon with 19,900 miles on it and 5-speed. I use Trip B to track average fuel economy each 10,000 miles so...

First 10K, computer reported 32.5 mpg / average
Second 10K, computer reported 33.5 mpg / average

Yes, I have a light foot and try to get better than average mileage. I probably do about 60% highway driving.

Just commuted home through a snowstorm with <1" on the road.

5MT sedan, 28F ambient, 87E0, Michelin X-Ice2

With everyone slowing down to 40MPH, I ended with 44.1MPG and 47.1MPG for the highway portion.

the only "mod" that made any difference was removal of that charcoal filter. my wife was averaging 36mpg, now its up to 38mpg.

Default 2012 Impreza Owners - MPG Thread!

I don't get how everyone else's MPG is so high. 2012 Impreza Premium, mostly city driving. After 30k miles, Fuelly is 24mpg. Car is perfectly maintained too so I don't believe it's a maintenance issue. Only mod that could effect mileage is 225/60 Pirelli P7 tires.

Holy hell. Would NEVER see this in my 5MT. Not in neutral rolling downhill for 50 miles.

The traffic where I live is bad, but even on a fresh tank of gas, after zeroing out the display, best I get typically is 27ish.

It really depend where you live. During winter that's about my average. When the engine is cold along with the differential, transaxle transmission, etc... That's normal.

My summer tires are Pilot Sport A/S3 & I average around 31mpg normally during summer & sometime on some weeks I average near 40mpg. I get MPG penalty because they are performance all season tires.

I mostly drive in the city.

Neither would I at regular highway speeds. My tanks typically hover around 36.9 MPG.

I should mention that my tires are 195mm and at 40 PSI.

A 7500 mile update, I'm getting about 25mpg all hilly city and 30mpg hilly highway (with 3 passengers and a full hatch). Haven't had much chance to test my highway mpg with just me in the car yet.

Is your 2012 a PZEV with the CVT? We have a 2014 PZEV with the CVT, and our lifetime average after 11k+ miles so far is 24.2mpg. Disappointing to say the least. Seems as if it is the PZEV+CVT combo which really does poorly.

Best tank was 32.8 on 10/25/2014 during a road trip after getting an 87 octane tune. Previous record was just over 31 and rarely saw over 30 even on long highway trips. I usually drive 5-7 mph over and probably average 70-75mph.

Now running a 93 octane tune and seeing okay commute numbers. Haven't had an exclusive highway trip on 93 tune yet.

Probably averaged around 65. Entire tank was highway miles on I5, not particularly hilly, summertime, not really windy out.

That 30.2mpg is not only the best tank we ever got, but it is also the only time we logged over 30mpg for a tank.

Numbers are inaccurate due to increased wheel slippage on the frozen ground.

Lol, jk
Nice numbers
