Default My sister's friend smushed my bug!

So my sister's friend went out side to drive away her lifted jeep and the next thing I hear is *crunch* and my alarm going off...

Broke the grill, the cap next to the headlight, and pushed the radiator core support back so that my hood won't latch shut and the upper radiator hose is rubbing on one of the pulleys.

Turns out she backed up so that she would have room to drive around the $50 plastic garbage can 10ft in front of her and ended up backing into my car. I'm just glad the garbage can is ok...

It's too dark for pictures at the moment but I'll try and get some tomorrow.

There, see? There's always a plus side to every situation. Glad to see the optimism.

... but, seriously. She owes you. Everyone knows that the correct apology for a smashed-in front end begins and ends with sexual favors.

That's like asking a girl with no boobs to take her shirt off...

Or like the ricers who drive around with no hood in their SOHC non-vtec EF civics with a Autozone neon air filter and home-depot headers.

CF would be cool if I could find one for cheap

Most likely I'm just going to fix this one and re-use, or find another stock hood.

I should go break my headlights and use the money to get JDM... wait did I say that outloud?

Hey Rob, is the insurance going to cover this or the girl paying out of her own pocket?

There is a shop that a friend and I went to for our cars to get fixed. The bodyshop is pretty cool and the dude is chill. He will order aftermarket parts if you want.

My car should be back to me by Wednesday at the latest. He's doing way more extra to the car than needed like retinting my windows and painting other panels for me.

Let me know if you want to check out his shop. It's off Curry rd and Scottsdale RD.

JDM's are pricey, I was lucky enough to have my insurance company write me a $1800.00 check for mine. State Farm FTW!!!

you have a peanut eye. why did you buy jdm headlights? it costs nothing to clear them. i didnt pay for my headlights, i just threw them in the oven, pulled them apart, and ripped the yellow plastic out.

Ummm yeah...they are cleared, I didnt replace my lights just got the check for them. I had a little incident with a shopping cart at Costco during one of those micro-burst storms. My insurance company tried to cover me for stock headlights but I told em "no way I want the JDM'S". So after a little research on their part they decided to cut me a check instead. So I live with a hairline crack on my drivers side and ordered me a Aquamist Meth Kit and a Spec C tank to make-up for it....Fair deal I'd say.

Her insurance is paying

The car might get totaled out though... Replacing a radiator tie bar isn't exactly 1-2-3, not to mention the parts. I had my buddies dad run a value on my car (He owns a dealership) and it came in at $5,275. He said the repairs have to be less than half the value of the car or else it's totaled. I can easily see about 20 hours of labor + parts being pretty close to $2,500... so we'll see what happens.

His car is a WRX, i don't believe retail is 5300 on the car, and to total it, it needs to be more then 50% of retail value, retail should be around 9 to 10k give or take a little for miles

This would be good... that way I can get a nice check instead of totaling it out then letting you buy it back
