I've got a 16 psi map for that setup. Have you seen my baja tuning thread on romraider?

Honestly have not been to romraider in a while. Forgive my ignorance for some of the following questions, I am just trying to work through this...

- In order to use a map like yours, all that I would need is a tactrix cable and a laptop, correct? Is there more that I need?
- I have an electronic boost gauge that I have yet to install, and that would certainly be recommended if I were running a non-stock map. Do you also have a wideband O2 sensor? If so, is it really necessary? I can't have my vehicle be a rolling Christmas tree with a zillion gauges in it, since I occasionally have clients in my car and I need to fly under the radar a bit.

I also have a VF-39, a STi intercooler and a Walbro 255 sitting in my basement. I may or may not decide to install them depending on the answers to the questions above. I am leaning towards doing the uppipe and downpipe and calling it "done".

walbro is a must, wb o2 highly recommended, buy a vag com cable not tactrix. Tactrix is basically the same thing rebadged. I dont have any maps that do not require logging at least 1 meg and at least 1 2k to 5k pull in 3rd. No way around that. I will buy the vf 39 from you.

Really, I would need the Walbro just to run the downpipe and uppipe? Maybe I am misunderstanding.

I'll let you know on the VF-39. I have not completely buried the idea of installing it yet.

I would love to know since I could get some gravel/rally coilovers and it should raise up the baja

Yes, they will fit. Here is the deal. I have a 2005 STI and the front coilovers match up perfectly except for the camber plate. It is at a 45 degree angle from where it should be so you get a camber/caster adjustment combo. For the rears I had a stock strut off of a 2009 sti. I held it up and it did in fact match up, however I did not bolt it on to confirm this. It was visually the same though.

I am going to be running a set of dominator tracks (americantracktrucks.com) on the baja this next winter so I fabbed up some 4" lift plates for both my STI and the baja. This way I don't have to screw around with the coilovers I can just bolt the lift plates on, load up the tracks and head to the snow. One could use the lift plates just for a lifted look on the baja although I think the axles would have to be longer at some point.

On a side note BC racing makes coilovers SPECIFICALLY for the baja now. I wish I would have bought those rather than the ISC kit which is basically a 2009 STI coilover kit.

Think those coils raised up to nearly max height would actually raise the baja??

Hell no. There is not a coilover setup out there that is made to raise/lift the baja unless you find a rally setup for a 2009 sti and then you are talking 4-5k for a setup. I made lift plates like I said.

The coilover kits that both isc and bc racing make for the baja at the highest safe setting still lowers the vehicle 1" below stock. On the isc setup you have no choice but to lower the baja 4" because there is not enough adjustment on the rear coilover to go any higher. I believe the kit ISC uses is made for a 2009 sti for this reason.

There is not a day that goes by that I don't regret buying the isc kit for the baja. I should have bought the bc racing setup.

I just bought an 05 Baja Turbo 5speed and tried to swap my Kartboy short shifter from my 04 WRX and it does not fit (section for bolt it wider). Probably going to modify it to work but just thought I would post up my finding.

There's two different widths. One for the regular shifter and one for the factory short shifter. I bought the Forester version for mine and they send me the wide spacer when I needed the narrow.

So what are you going to do? I think I'm going to grind it down to make it work, however, the WRX one is even shorter than the Forester one. Not sure if it will be too short or not.

I just emailed Kartboy and they sent me the proper one, but that was years ago when I bought it. The difference between the WRX and Forester shifters is the length. The Forester one is 2" taller.

Are you serious? You don't need an install kit, just swap the pump.

I'm taking about the new filter etc. It comes with the pumps. When I swapped the one on my WRX, I swapped the harness, filter, and tubing.

Like I said, the pump is a direct fit. Wiring harness and all.

Forget about the walbro's because they whine too much and second, there are a bunch of complaints about reliability. I believe asians are supplying fake pumps into the market. Just have to look for a verified vendor.
I installed an aeromotive fuel pump and runs like a oem but a higher capacity than a walbro, like i need it, and its been installed for a while and i cannot say nothing bad about the reliability or Whine. Do some research before you pay.

I ran a Walbro on my WRX and never had a problem (didn't seem to whine at all). Kept a bunch of stuff from the WRX to go on the Baja (68hta, STI tmic, UP, Hallman Pro, etc). Just need a DP, fuel pump, and injectors. Anybody swap to top feed injectors on their Baja's?
