You have to have the wideband sensor matched to the gauge kit/control unit. We use the latest 4.9 sensor so it would not work with say AEM gauge. Our wideband kit is dead on as we worked closely with Bosch for months to perfectly match the newest and wideband range sensor with our Wideband kit. The sensors are not that expensive only about $80

not to knock down prosport gauges, but i bought an oil pressure gauge and sandwich plate for my 00 integra january of 09, the plate leaked, so they sent me a new gasket free of charge , but in october, either the sender or the gauge crapped out so i just took it out, now i dont know how long gauges should last, but i dont think 1 year it right either
and i couldnt remember if it had a warranty so i just tossed the gauge and sender |

Thanks for the feedback, but we cannot help you if you do not contact us... Often times it is a simple wiring or loss of ground, or blown fuse, etc.. that will fix the problem. We do offer free tech support and we can look up your purchase date for you. So keep that in mind for next time.

[quote="Unabomber"]Any gauge dangers? Under no circumstances should you use a mechanical gauge inside your passenger compartment that measures flammable fluids such as oil or fuel. Boost is 100% fine, but anything with fluids just doesn’t make sense.[quote="Unabomber"]
would someone care this explain this, I have an 05 rs n/a and I want to install the clock pod with an oil temp, oil pressure And tach gauge. I naturally wouldnt want A Boost gauge since I have no boost but I do want 3 gauges that are from what I see to be useful. Can you tell me why is unnecessary in your opinion? |

I think What he is saying is use ELECTRICAL gauges not Mechanical gauges. as a mechanical oil pressure gauge has hot oil running right up to the back of the gauge. an electrical gauge uses a sender in the engine compartment then electrical wire to the gauge. much safer.

I do like remote mounting of oil pressure sensors in the engine compartment as they can be relatively heavy and physically large. An AN 917-1D at the galley plug with the temp sensor in the run and a remote line to the pressure sensor. (I prefer to make my own hose assemblies to length. No kit for me.) |

Living in the south and using the car for HPDE track days a water temp gauge is most important to me. Anyone give me a tip on where you need to install the sender for a water temp gauge on an 06 STi?

Does an aftermarket boost gauge cause possible warranty issues? I have a 2011 wrx and the stock gauge is pretty expensive. Thanks

No, the dealer cannot use the excuse that because you intalled say an exhaust systen that your entire warranty is void. Just your stock exhaust system would no longer be covered unless you switch back before you went to the dealer.

Thanks for the info here guys. Wired up a wideband and boost up to the clock. Now I'm ready for the Raptor SC!
On my 07 it was: Switched Power (ACC) Yellow/Blue Ground Black Constant Power (BAT) Blue/Red |

Does anyone know what is the thread size of the Oil Galley plug next to the intercooler on EJ20? Also has anyone see a fitting to replace that plug which has M10 x1.0 thread instead of the popular 1/8 NPT?
Thanks! |

I'll be running a stage 2 tune, and the tuner has his own wideband for the tuning phase. Is it necessary to get my own wideband gauge to monitor all the time, in addition to a boost gauge? Or is it better to run a boost gauge plus something else, like EGT?

I agree, monitoring AFR is more important than EGT. AFR values change over time, a professional tune does not stay perfect forever.

there are so many variables. old spark plugs, glogged injectors, exhaust leaks, boost leaks, ebay blow off valves, fuel octane....etc

Boost vs Exhaust Gas Temp...
http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo.asp?number=WM-CG-8
Westach makes a gauge that I have in my Dodge Diesel. It's a combo of boost and EGT in one gauge, it's a little spendy but its two gauges in one and comes with the sensor and boost hose. On my truck I installed it before the turbo on the exhaust manifold. you just drill a hole and thread it for the thermocouple you have chosen and tap the intake for boost. The link above has a great photo of the gauges. Also http://www.westach.com/ shows the other gauges they have. I'm doing a ej20g transplant into a 1967 vw bug. I have a 300° F VDO temp guage that I used to use in the car for an oil temp with a sender that was specific to the old aircooled motor. Now I want to hook up the 300° gauge to the gauge sending unit on my subaru motor. I was curious as to what was the temp range that the subaru sending unit was designed for? Most people doing this conversion are using 250° gauges and the subaru sender doesn't match exactly to the gauge's range. Thank you. |

Yes this nifty little guy is expensive when it comes to cost of gauges. But Has anyone used this on a Subaru and recommended it? I tried a search here but only came up with old FS threads. This gauge seems promising with all its features. If you have this gauge installed please tell me your feedback, likes/dislikes of it. With a new price tag of $507 Id like to hear about actual use before I purchase it. Thanks Gauge in question; http://www.turbosmartusa.com/product/e-boost-2 |
