Dave, if you are running the rallysprint, are you offering any ride-alongs to train or help a noob practice notes? hehehe

I really don't want to be in the way, but hopefully I have a chance to catch up with you and say hi.

damn, wish I had known that 3 months ago when I ordered my manual crank tracks from freaking England since all the spec guys snatch them up here in the US

currently entered? not me, not shawn, not the two guys in the 318is (Stuart and Spencer do have "drift-style" e30s, but they're definitely not pros, lol). I'm assuming not one of the four guys in Crowner's car. Shawn's co-driver?

I think he is actually going to be the co-driver. Not the driver.

He'll be the one driving straight sideways. Drifters care about the show, not their times.

Poor kid is going to be confused wondering where the tire squeal, loud heavy death rap DJs and bikini-clad energydrink bimbos are. You can take him.

it's not necessarily his driving I'm worried about, lol. But I'm not really worried at all, since I have no idea if I'll be good at this or suck at it, so beating anyone is not really the goal for Sunday

I'm not racing this year but I'll be there to help if needed. Hopefully somewhere near registration and start/timing....

Jared are you going to be there this weekend? If not who's running it in your absence?

One of the ideas I pitched at the end of last season of how to make things go smoother/faster this year was to have lunches delivered. The benefit being that it keeps drivers in the paddock rather than standing in line to get food, which in turn gives them more time to work on their car and assures they are in the paddock on time to start the afternoon session.

I'm willing to organize lunches for this weekend to see how it goes.

There are really only two places within reasonable distance of the track.
Railside Market which is right in Summit Point, http://www.railsidemarket.com, good food but prone to long lines and not the best value for your dollar.
A little farther away is Jordan Springs Market, http://www.jordanspringsmarket.com, which also serves good food and is cheaper by a few dollars.

I went in today, as I do most weeks, to get a pulled pork sandwich meal from Jordan Springs.

For $8 a meal (including tax) you can order a meal like you see above of either pulled pork or smoked beef brisket and your choice of potato salad or coleslaw. Even includes a can of soda.

I can take orders and collect cash in the morning at registration and have the food waiting for you when the morning session ends.

Any interest in this?

Cool.
I talked with BSR today now that it seems decided that you'll run the big course.
He won't be able to do a full pass with the grader but will clean up some of the more rutted areas.
Some rain fell last night but not enought to create mud or standing water.

I think some rain will be just fine as long as it's dry Saturday and Sunday.

I talked to Maria in the BSR office on like Tuesday...told her we were running the big course.

I hope you are bringing enough singles for a good night out to be able to give change to everybody.
Katie and I are interested and are checking with our co-drivers.

I think there was confusion then.

Big Course vs Long Course; similar but different depending on who you talk to.

What BSR calls the "Long Course" we call the "gravel course"

What we call the "big course" BSR calls "Dolly"

all packed up (so as to have my St.Paddy's day for *other* things). Damn I can't believe how much stuff I'm bringing compared to an autocross, lol. And moreso, can't believe how my small amount of autocross crap takes up the WRX's entire trunk and interior, and I have twice as much stuff in the e30 right now, with 1/3 of the trunk still empty, lol

any last-second things I might be forgetting to bring? Stuff that people always forget?

Pretty excited to get out there, hope the car doesn't fail me, haha....

Bug spray!!!! Lots of water and dust masks if it gets really dusty. A folding chair for lunch and maybe an umbrella for the sun.
And tape in case your magnets go flying into the weeds, never to be seen again.

ya, got my Deep Woods stuff, lol. Though kind of early in the year for bugs I would think (it's still winter!!). Dust mask is a good idea, and chair, thanks. Always have my tape
