The nav on the '15 forester or the nav on the '15 outback? Are they going to have different navs?

from the link below:

"Things I wish they had changed on the 2015s but didn't..
- added Paddle Shifters. It didn't happen.
- fixed the very problematical power rear gate mechanism. It didn't happen. Only available on the Limited and Touring models, the overly complicated rear gate needs 4 pages of instructions in the owner's manual (!?), plus its slow to open and tugging on it makes it not open correctly.
- 2nd generation Eyesight. Doesn't seem to have made it to the 2015 Forester"

Justy was talking about '15 outback that hasn't been released yet. I plan on buying a '15 Forester but I wanted to wait and see how the '15 outback stacks up first. Justy was saying he really likes the Forester, but the Outback gets the new eyesight, and maybe a different nav?

Not bad to wait and see what they are doing with the '15 Outback. Personally, I LOVE my 14FXT and I was coming from a 2012 3.6R Outback. I loved both vehicles but I do like my FXT more, but I like how it's sportier which may or may not be what you're into.

I prefer the Forester over the Outback as well, hopefully the 2016 Forester will have the fixes/upgrades in place.

Yeah. I was vague. Sorry. The new Outback will have the upgrades(obviously). My statement did make it sound like the Forester could've been getting the upgrades.

Not likely as far as EyeSight is concerned which is very, very unfortunate.

Any particular reason to make you say that? From what Justy is saying, it sounds like MY2015 Outback will have the 3rd gen EyeSight, and so I could see the MY2016 Forester getting the upgrade. You think Subaru will wait for the Forester mid-life redesign instead? That would be a bummer - you'd think Subaru would want to standardize an accessory like this across all possible models.

Sorry dudes for the misunderstanding. My fault! But yeah, as somebody who was hoping for the new eyesight on the 2015 forester, I hope it gets there for 2016. I will most likely either be getting the forester or outback. I would love to get the new eyesight, as it is smaller and has blindspot detection. My wife isnt the greatest driver... so I was hoping to get a vehicle that helps her out.

MY2015 Outback will have the 2nd gen EyeSight, there's no 3rd gen yet.

Hopefully Blind Spot Detection would be a separate option not bundled with Eyesight.

SUBARU DEBUTS NEXT GENERATION EyeSight™ SYSTEM

New Technologies for 2015 Model Year

Blind Spot Detection
This driver assistance technology senses cars coming up in the vehicle’s blind spot and if the turn signal is on, it alerts the driver not to change lanes. The driver is warned by a flashing light on the side view mirror and the alert stays active until the car in the adjacent lane is in view. Subaru BSD uses radar sensors on the side and rear of the car.

Lane Change Assist
The lane changes assist system warns the driver of a fast approaching vehicle on either side of the car. It only flashes an alert in the side view mirror when the turn signal is engaged and has a range of 230 ft.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Rear cross traffic alert uses rear facing radar to detect vehicles approaching from behind on either side of the vehicle such as when reversing out of a parking space at the mall. The radar sweeps 230 feet on either side of the vehicle to detect an approaching vehicle and triggers a warning light on the dash. The system can also detect cars up to 23 ft behind the vehicle.

2015 Legacy/Outback EyeSight is 3rd gen. 2nd gen for the states, but it is 3rd gen. Infante even refers to it as 3rd gen.
