The mods weren't limited at all and honestly I'm not a fan oh high horsepower. But I really think it would have helped. I planned on running 295 Hoosiers but a week before the show they said 200tw tires only so I was scrambling to get some street tires, because all I had was my "DD" 225 star specs. So a friend let me borrow his 255 falkens. Maybe the show didn't depict it very well but I don't feel I was driving over aggressive, Like aforementioned he was actually slowing my corner entry up. But yes more power would have been helpful. My mods consisted of. - HKS flange down pipe, 3" SPT Catback, 3 port bcs. Tuned. Endura tech street coil overs 7/9kspring rates and sway bars.
I knew going into It I would be outmatched by the cars...........drivers not so much.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I don't know how you could stand there and take their lame jokes with straight face... I don't mind some bashing, but the dude says one funny thing and about 10 stupid things.
I'll still keep watching the show though, if only to see what beasts they bring out for the final race. Most of those muscle cars on the show look/sound great!

they didn't say much to our face and when they did I was throwing it right back at them. Li,e when rep came up and said I looked like Conan Obrian, I returned with " you look like a wanna be Larry the cable guy" he fell out laughing and I guess they edited that out.

Tonight had a GT-R (full cage) vs a Boss Mustang (then a 66 Stang)... Sweet!
And BO DUKE!!! I wish he would have came out in a Challenger. Or taken a huge jump.

Then that idiot Camaro driver smacked the BMW driver. Ridiculous. Did you see any wrecks when you were there? I'm assuming they have no liability for damages, right?

It's entertaining TV though.

That GTR crushed everything it was up against. Something tells me Bo Duke spun out and went full retard so it wouldn't be so obvious how outmatched they were.

I think you did quite well. I wonder if you had gotten the holeshot and were in the lead what would have happened. Camaro seemed to get the jump at he start. What are your alignment settings? It appeared to me watching the replay that you have quite a bit of positive camber dialed into the front. Am I right? Also it appeared you were following his lines in that last race. AWD really helps to pull the car through and out of the corners. I wish I could contact this family that runs at Carolina all of the time. Would be nice to hear their input. I know this is Monday morning quarterbacking and don't get me wrong.

I caught that as well, spinning out like he did on the first lap.

I tried jumping the start and actually jumped way too soon and should have stayed in it until they told me to stop, but I backed out and as soon as I came off throttle the flag dropped. that camaro was fast enough that I HAD to get a good jump on him. But I do agree that if I got out front I would have been able to hold him off because I would have been blocking like crazy. I'm not sure if anyone would run positive camber but it was basically my autox set up about 2.5*. I was switching up my lines to try and get some kind of run on him, I know I drove it too hard into some of the corners but it was to try something different because CMP is a very narrow track and its easy for the car out front to block.

Just watched the show. I think you had a great run, esp. considering what you were down 200+ hp and were not on Dunlops or something. And thank you for your service

But this show is really hard to watch. The guy in the almost stock E46 328i against a 600 hp car... c'mon man!

Thanks Butt, That's true that the match ups were kinda ridiculous but these were seriously what came to the event, so of the slower cars they picked the drivers that were camera friendly.

That guy in the newer SS Camaro was a dick. The M3 clearly had position in the turn. I would have slashed his tires after that asshatery.

Well, on Aug 17, Speed Channel will morph into Fox Sports 1. FS1 will still carry NASCAR, but who knows whether any other motorsports will survive the change.

I'm not going to take the time to read this whole thread, so I don't know if this has been touched yet.

You did a wonderful job driving! But it wasn't fair from the beginning. You were put up against fully built race cars with gobs of money put in it when you had a basically stock sti.

The promo for this show made me not want to watch it, the part where the "redneck" slaps the other guy just pissed me off. Therefor I never wanted to watch it. But I heard there was an sti so I watched the show. It's a stupid premise of a show, if they took equally valued cars, the "redneck" would have no chance. Just my .02

Well we are super proud of Adam. He did an amazing job with his driving and represented what a well situated mildly modded car can do in the hands of a great driver. He represented himself, his family, the military and our business amazingly well and we couldn't be more proud. Great job Adam!

^^^ If that is what a mild Audi can do, I am driving the OBSTi down 2700 miles for the next season. If I can get picked...

A Subaru needs to see that 10k, and my swap and I are up to the task.

I was referring to the Subaru. 04trailsti is Adam. We were sponsoring him at the time of the event.

It's not just the car. That Audi was being wheeled VERY well.

Also, make sure you take full advantage of the tire rules if you do end up going down there.

I give full credit to the Audi cause I know how bad ass B5 AUDIS are, and the driver as well. But bill Howell isn't a wheelman so that puts the odds against the rednecks.

Yeah... I was not at full reading comprehension last night. For some reason I thought the Audi drivers name was Adam, but I was completely wrong.

Thanks for the advice... That is one of my cars one weaknesses, that and heat due to maxing the TMIC. On my current tires, it has more than enough power to spin just like those muscle cars. At 2900lbs/400whp I should stand a chance. As for my skills? I got like nunchuku skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills... I have faith.

Curious if anyone has a info on the tire rules, I can't really find much. Did I miss it in this thread? Yup... says 200tw.

^^^see what happens when you take a second to go back and read...
