I installed the curt hitch on my 2010 wrx.

The clearance is very tight! when the exhaust gets hot and expand, it could rub against the hitch. Thinking of ways to shield that part of the hitch with something...

Overall, I can see the quality of the hitch is pretty well made.

Just wanted to throw a picture of our RV and our little tow behind WRX. It is always nice unhooking her and hitting the road. We have been in Yellowstone since last Friday and it is a blast driving through the mountains.

I have a 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon with a factory installed trailer hitch. It came with a plug that features a black rubber cap with Subaru written on it. Natuarlly it's rusted in place and I cant' figure out how to get it out since I'ts hard to get a grip on it. Any ideas?

Just pry it out with a flat head screwdriver, work each side and it will come out. Maybe try some penetrant if it is really stubborn.

2006 2.5i wagon car came with a drawtite on it. Car is pre-wired with the hidden plug, it had a harness / converter but was burned out. So i replaced the converter with a new universal 5 to 4 wire converter wired to the original pigtail. Also added inline fuses to the 3 power wires going to the trailer (seen too many burned out converter box's)

Im also running a 06-07 USDM STI catback with stock hangers i have about 1/4 between the "STI" tip and the hitch. it doesnt rattle or hit. if it did it appears the tip could be cut back at the top to clear the hitch

For a trailer i have a little 4' x 6' trailer i built. it weights in right around 400lbs I use it to carry street bikes, dirt bikes, home depot runs, dump runs, moving, all kinds of stuff i would say a typical payload is about 400 - 600 lbs, combined with the trailer its about 1000lbs. I have never had a problem moving this kind of weight, car accelerates fine, brakes fine. really you would hardly know its there.

Notice the table on top of a mattress set with its legs extending almost 10ft high, this got some looks but the weight was fairly low.

Or bikes but this is the old car (still towed just fine)

Well, as with most of my projects, this one is being a pain. LOL Just a trial and fit thing, but on my 2003 WRX Wagon with Maddad Whisper Dual Tip and Drawtite hitch, it hits. I ordered the Kartboy XL hangers but still 1/4" short. I am going to heat and bend the hanger on the muffler can and should clear. Pics to come.

Setup:
2003 WRX Wagon
Drawtite Hitch
Maddad Whisper Dual Tip, 3"
Kartboy XL Hangers (3)

Going to be moving from fl to ky and seeing if I can use the move trunk with a tow bar to tow my 97 impreza coupe awd. If I disconnect the drive shaft or put in neutral. Thanks

Hey guys I need your help. I'm moving next week and am looking into getting a Uhaul hitch and rent a trailer to tow (4x8 or 5x8) with my 2006 Saab 9-2X 2.5i or impreza wagon 5 MT.

Trailers
http://www.uhaul.com/reservations/RatesTrailers.aspx

Uhaul hitch
http://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Trailer-hitches/840052

Anyways the trip is about 1200 KM or 745 Miles straight with almost no turns. Should I be ok with this set up? Anything I should look out for?

The reason I'm going with the Uhaul hitch is because I'm short on time and they can install it for me or would I be better off going to the dealership and getting a subaru one?

You'll be fine w/ a U-Haul hitch. I haven't heard anything bad about them. Your set up is fine. How much weight will you be towing (including the trailer)? I towed a 5X8 enclosed U-Haul trailer from Philadelphia to Houston w/ my WRX. I had to cross the Appalachians. The car performed flawlessly. I had about 1000 lbs. behind me - trailer included. Gas mileage sucked, but the stock brakes never gave me any problems. I also kept good distance from vehicles in front of me - plenty of distance to stop or slow down. Remember to buy the trailer light kit. They can install that for you as well.

Default Hitch Questions 2014 Impreza Sedan

I want to install a hitch on my 2014 Impreza Sedan.

I found the hitch on etrailers that is supposed to fit the 2013 and 2014 models. Here are my questions:

1. Does it make sense that the same hitch would fit both the 2013 and 2014 models?

and

2. I noticed that there is a perforated "cut-out" in the rear skirt/bumber and was wondering if that is where the receiver will be, or will it be below everything? I searched for pictures and can find nothing for that model and the generic install video on the etrailer site isnt any help.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yet another towing question...Probably going to pull the trigger on a UHaul hitch for my '13 WRX so that I can tow my quad around. The total weight of the trailer with the quad in it is going to be about 990lbs. Anything I should really be worried about? I don't think the back of the car will squat too much and stock brakes should be fine?

Well I towed a 5x8 uhaul trialer with uhaul hitch 1300 km. The back was really low but uhaul gave me the thumbs up to go and now problems at all. Struggle a bit up hill but I just needed to downshift.
