Impreza GC8 Silver '02 RS at Evanston Subaru

While I was waiting for my RS at Evanston Subaru (warranty repair on trans) I spied a Silver 02 RS with tinted windows and aftermarket headlights.

http://www.evanstonsubaru.com/frames...vehicle_search

Does anyone know the history on this car? Was it owned or traded in by someone on NASIOC? I don't want to end up with a car like Dr Nick abandoned turbo project.

Currently I have a coupe but would prefer to have a 4dr since my 3 kids won't stop growing!

I will try to stop by Borders tonight but that's just tentative for now.

Thanks,

Brian

it could be bambams247@clubwrx's car. I know he had a rs - I think it was silver. He just got rid of it

yah,

they've had that car for a pretty long time. I personally wouldn't buy it, especially not for $14K.

I agree David, the price is too high.

There should be some negotiating room if I can get some info from Neal to use as leverage....that is if the car is actually worth purchasing given it's history. (still waiting for info from Neal)

Heh, that car's been there forever; the Morettes and 4-pots on that car are just being wasted...

The length of time it's been there is one of my concerns as well. Is it just the high price that is keeping it there?

yup, seen that in may, and i know its been there longer... when i was there, they let me test some 02 WRB auto sedan with mods. it was the owner's sons old car. as i was looking for a white wagon, that was sold, at the time.

Perhaps a covert "rescue the morrettes, 4 pots and RS wheels" mission is in order??? I call dibs on the 4 pots.

hey that's a good idea. I call dibs on the headlights. you think they would notice if it came back with stock headlights? Probably not.

Who said anything about putting back stock items???

I figured a couple milkcrates and some black ninja outfits would be good enough.

Who's getting the wheels???

Yep..... that is the old coon. I thought that they had sold it to auction.

The car has RS wheels, 4 pot brakes, STi suspension, Morette lights and a few other things.

I know for a fact that the first thing that Neal will tell you is "don't buy that car".

It was in an accident and had over 9K in damage done to it. I was told that the car was never the same after being fixed.

I would use it as leverage in a deal on another car... hey I'll buy this WRX if you guys throw in the Morettes and 4 pots from that car over there, rusting into oblivion.

Poor bastards.

yeah, get the parts on a dif car. I beat the hell out of the 02rs. Although....
it might have the turbo motor in it, cobb na turbo cams, morettes with HIDs, sti strut/spring/rear sway, 4 pots, dba rotors, trans cooler but the car feels twitchy and lots of noises that really shouldn't be comming from a car that is so "new"
