Thumbs down top mount fitment problems

okay so i got bored and decided to give my huge tmic a try again, lance and i tried just before i went to basic/tech school. i mean it's huge. bigger than spearco's! i got it in with little problem after i moved the ac line. but... now i can't get the line back down in. i was thinkin of heating the line up and bending it into shape, it almost bends into place. i wanted to know, would this be a good idea??? my ac doesn't even work... everything else fit fine except the coupler. it's trashed. has been for some time so if anyone has one i can buy that'd be great! thanks. let me know what you think

i removed that little mount cuz it will not go back to there. so assume that's gone i just need it to fit back there

You motor rocks side to side. Over time your AC hose will get worn through or break.
Just a heads up

I think I have the same TMIC and I ended up ghetto rigging (read zip tie) to give me the clearance I needed. I didn't realize how fast it eats away at the hose I can get a pic if you'd like

This is the ghetto rig that has pulled it back enough to not rub on the hose. I didn't realize how fast it eats away at the hose

Lucky that one area was the only area I had issues with rubbing.

You need solution to the TMIC-too-big issue?
Step down a bit and use a slightly smaller tmic. 0 fitment issues.
I went through this with my old WRX and after a few hours of fighting it in and out (and getting it out was such a potential-future-pain since its not completely leave-in-and-forget), i gave up, and traded it for an STi tmic. Better idea, IMHO.

The new 08 STi tmic's should be sufficiently huge.

The shroud (I assume air splitter ) works with it. You can see the black outline of where it meets I kind of want to make a larger one but with winter right around the corner I'll probably just wait.

well i mean i need one that can direct the air across the entire intercooler, but i didn't even give splitter a chance i guess i'll throw that back on cuz that'll be better than nothin.
