I received mine last week and am extremely happy with the weight and size!

I did have one question though regarding the white. From the pictures at the beginning of this thread all of the knobs appear to have a gloss finish (as does the blue that Bugstiwagon posted). Is there a reason that my white and Bugs aren't smooth and glossy like the other colors?

Thanks!

the white we usually offer is a satin white. we are thinking about swapping out to a gloss white. when we roll out the gloss white i can probably work out an exchange for you if you'd like. we are thinking about a white with a lil bit of a flake in it.

lildrunkensmurf - usually shipping to canada isn't that bad...

I think USPS.

Also, I've had more than one person ask if they are painted and how to keep the paint nice. They are powdercoated. I'd suggest you DON'T use Armor All or something like that, something that could leave a film. I have used a few different cleaners, usually I just wipe mine off with a microfiber and use nothing on it.

Recently I've started using Chemical Guys Nonsense Cleaner
http://www.chemicalguys.com/Chemical...spi_993_16.htm

But I basically use it on my entire interior, doesn't leave a film or gloss. Looks great and cleans awesome. So it has been cleaned a few times, sprayed onto a microfiber, applied, then wiped with a clean one. Just like the rest of the interior. Nothing special.

If you're having trouble with the threads, shoot a small bit of WD40 or PB blaster in there. My apologies, I was trying to hurry and may have forgotten to chase a few threads, if you spray it up there and try and install it you may have to work it down and up a few times. There may be a tad bit of powder from the powdercoater still in the threads. If there is it is my apologies.

If there are any other problems with the knobs go ahead and give me a PM or an email [email protected].

Hope you all get them really soon!!!!

Just received my knob! Two thumbs up to Anarchy Motive!! I am pretty picky and mine turned out perfect! There is a little powder on the threads but that is the least of my worries. Thanks Forman and Anarchy!

Got mine in yesterday. I got a little nervous when I saw a few people's complaints, but mine seems perfect. No imperfections in finish and threaded on just fine.

Need to do some interior cleaning.

Please shoot us a PM with your full name if you don't receive it by the end of this week. Some shipments take longer than others, I assume. Canada, maybe?

I rate them 4/10- both of the knobs (Boxed and shipped seperate) have imperfections in the paint. I tried to photograph this on them but the white was really hard to capture, It has small swirl marks and dark impurities on the top and the side of the knob. Also the threads seem to be very unclean, and when i went to install it, it felt as if i would have to force it on. I stopped because i did not want to mess the threads on the shifter for the stock knob to not go back on. The blue one has a chip in the paint on the top, it seems to be painted rather then powdercoating. Maybe im wrong but it seems really thinly coated. However i am happy with the weight of the knobs, and the shape is just about perfect. The knob is a great design but the craftsmanship is lacking. I will use the blue 5-speed knob, until i find something better. The white 6speed knob however will be a nice paper weight.

Sad to say after only a week it has a chip. I can't imagine how this could happen so quickly. I don't wear any rings or watch on my hand. I would have to agree with you Bugstiwagon for the poor craftsmanship in these shift knobs.

Well today I received my shift knob! . The only problem is it has a small chip in the paint. Unfortunately, the chip is on the side I have to look at from the driver's side...

These sounds like isolated incidents. We've literally sold hundreds of these without any issues. The ones we all use here continue to serve us well without any chips. I'm wondering if the new packaging may have contributed to the chips that some of you are seeing? Or possibly the new source that Anarchy Motive uses for powdercoating could be at fault for making some mistakes?

I'm not sure what's going on, as all previous one's have been fantastic in quality! But I'm sure Anarchy Motive will make these right for you guys.

Guys, these knobs are very nice. So far, Forman performance has head prompt, excellent customer service. These cases could very well just be bad luck. I wouldn't shy away from these knobs just yet. We will keep you updated on how they make this right for us. Right now, I have no doubt that they will do what it takes to make their customers happy.

Vim is right, I will make sure all of your knobs are perfect.

The finish shouldn't chip at all and shouldn't be flaking or peeling at all. I am not sure what the deal is. We just moved to Missouri, so are using completely new vendors. Likely the problem. I am going to call them on Monday and see what we can do. This is not OK with me.

As Vim said, we've sold about 300+ of these with literally less than 1% return rate. I pride myself in the craftsmanship of my products and I know for a fact that none of them would have left here with defects like that so blatantly obvious to the naked eye. This is not good.

I sincerely apologize for the problems guys. This should not have happened at all.

I am going to call on Monday and see what the powdercoater has to say and come up with a plan of action to get you all knobs.

At the current moment I have no knobs in stock. I have another batch that is due to be finished 5/31 and go to powder after that, so they should be complete by the middle of June. I will gladly exchange the knob at that point or you can mail the knob back now and I can have them recoated and mailed back out to you guys. I am not sure if that would even be faster since I have a conference I have to attend next weekend in Chicago. Right now, those look like the two best options for you guys.

Again, I really apologize for any problems in the knobs. These are really the first problems we've had like this. This never should have happened and ultimately it is on me. I am really sorry. I have gotten all of your emails so far, I am not ignoring you. It is easier to post here really fast as I have a sick 11 month old right now at home that is taking my focus at the moment. I will figure everything out on Monday and get back to everyone.

I'm sorry guys. I'll fix this.

True, but it looks like quality control may be an issue with this batch.

I've got a gun-metal from the previous group buy and it's solid, I love it.

But with all the work being contracted out, and using new vendors, the final inspection before shipping becomes more and more important. The way mine was packaged, it would be impossible for any damage to occur during shipping, but maybe that's changed as well.

I checked all of them, i pack them all by hand so im the one that lays eyes on them before they ship. I have a feeling that the proper prep work was not done on a few knobs by my powder shop, causing issues. Theyre all packed the same. Needless to say im not happy with my powdercoating shop. Ill figure it out.

Glad youre still enjoying your knob.

- Staggering 671 grams (1.47lbs)!!! Weight like this at the end of the shift lever helps engage gears smoother and with more ease!
- Solid American Steel with 1 piece construction (no inserts or set screws)
- Massive 2.15-inch diameter, fits comfortably in most hands (Ideal for those who shift from the top and from the side)
- Built-In Boot retainer featured on the 5spd WRX models
- Reverse lock-out compatibility built-in on the 6spd STI models
- Available in Gunmetal, White, Black, Blue, Red
- Extra Thick Powder-coated finish helps prevent severely hot or cold conditions

I do have one more question. The description says extra thick powder coating to prevent severely hot or cold conditions. Is this different based on color? My paint is super thin on the red. I would like to be able to touch my shift knob in the summer once it is hot outside. I also thought they were going to be textured a bit to break up the heat/cold.

Fair enough, sounds like you're doing everything you can. Pretty much has to be the prep work. I hope you get it sorted, it's a great product. Maybe if we made more stuff in this country we'd be better at it.
