Yeah, I was thinking about doing that, or just trimming up the sides so they are even. Not sure yet.

Yeah, that might turn out even better actually. More coverage higher up. I did it this way because it's reversible. If I change my mind, I can always use the other holes and then trim the sides later.

I like it too. I think it looks better on a black car, IMO.

Great info and pics as usual, xluben.

I have a Perrin DP, a SPT catback and Perrin CAI waiting in the garage for the salt-laden roads to let up here.

You and Jockeygolfs are the two "bad influences" that made me buy them. LOL!

AEM Cold Air Intake went on and had the MAF scaled last night. Definitely way more intake/turbo sound as well as much louder BPV sound. More photos and info later.

GrimmSpeed EBCS and MBC also went on last night. Tuned for hybrid boost control:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2135421
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=602674

Mock up of install. Final install used hose clamps and plugged the port on the right side of the EBCS.

More info and photos of the final install coming later.

How are you liking the AEM intake xluben? I told you the intake would increase the BPV noise a lot. I think it sounds awesome hearing the turbo spool up.

Yeah, you were totally right. Waaay louder than before. Definitely some cool noises, but I did like how low key it was before. If it helps to free up some power then it's worth it, and it does sound really cool when I'm in the mood

Have been following this thread since the begining and its probably a similar order as I will go with my WRX. Finally got a Tactrix cable to work on my OP tune.

Can you provide an explination of your hybrid boost control strategy. I have read the FAQs but some things are still unclear.

For hybrid boost control, the EBCS and MBC are hooked up in parallel. The MBC is set to control your max boost. The MBC will generally have a very quick response (allows the turbo to spool up as fast as possible), and will also have a very solid boost curve.

The EBCS is tuned so that it will control boost just like normal at all positions except WOT. This allows the car to control boost based on throttle position and avoid partial throttle, full boost. It will give you a much more linear power response, instead of pushing down the throttle halfway and going straight to full boost (like can happen with a MBC only).

The tune is set up so WOT (throttle position at 100%) will set the WGDC (for the EBCS) to 100%. This means that any time you floor it, the EBCS closes, and all of the air goes through the MBC. This allows you to have the ultra fast and stable boost response of a MBC at WOT, and the added control and linearity of an EBCS at partial throttle. It is a good setup, but definitely not a necessity.

Thanks for the thorough response, exactly what I wanted to know. Do you still run the stock restrictor pill?

Once you get away from the OEM "bleed" based system you no longer need to control flow rates. With an interrupt system pressure is all that really matters. So, no, I'm not using a restrictor pill.

Along with some local Subaru guru help, I installed the Fiveo 1200cc Injectors today:

http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/impor...s/?itemid=1263

Took about 3hrs or so with two people working on the install. It was a pretty big pain to get the driver's side bracket out. Injectors went in without any problems.

After the injectors were scaled on pump gas, I made the switch to E85! The car runs great and the power feels amazing!

I don't have the log, but I think it was around 360WHP/390WTQ on the Virtual Dyno Dynojet setting (reads higher than an Airboy or Mustang Dyno). It was a conservative tune due to the winter mix of E85 (actually around E70) and since I still had a few gallons of pump gas in the tank.

I'll be getting a touch up tune once all of the pump gas is out. And probably another tune when the gas stations switch to true E85. Even without an aggressive tune the difference is incredible. The car feels amazing now, and runs perfectly. It is smooth from idle to redline and pulls hard the entire way. I love my tuner
