In order to install the from lip on WRX,
Does the front bumper has to come off?

Not necessary but it'll make the install/drilling easier.

Has anyone tried attaching a lip with 3M automotive tape? I'd love to get a cheap ebay one and replace it when it gets scratched up. Drilling holes would make this difficult if I change the lip type.

I have been thinking about doing the roof to protect the paint from mud and grease from the bikes. My sunroof adds a little bit of a variable to the install. Looks good.
Nice!

On a scale of 1-10 how difficult is installing a carbon lip w/o taking the bumper off and only having jackstands to put the car up on?

Are most of the these carbon lips pre-drilled for installation or use clips to attach?

To be honest it's extremely easy to take off the bumper. It only takes 5 minutes max. It'll make your life a whole lot easier.

I installed my lip without taking the bumper off. Extremely simple. Just get the front end up and off the ground enough to get a drill under there. Simple. I would rate it as a 2 out of 10 (10 bring the hardest). You could even drive the car up to a curb if you don't want to jack it up. Just let the front bumper area hang over the curb. Mock the lip up with 2-3 pieces of tape and go to town.
