Default AVO 500 STi Agile tuned. (APS INLET NOW INSTALLED)

APS IN!!! UPDATE ON PAGE 3.

well i finally got my AVO 500 on the car, overall i say this is a pretty good turbo that flows ALOT of air, so much that my Samco Turbo inlet has started to colapse (i have a APS on the way) I have to say thanks again to Hill and all of the guys there for helping me out with everything! i would reccomend agile to anyone i really trust them with my car.

Well just as a litlle background i had agile tune my stage 2 + meth for me a few months back and that netted me 337awhp and 400awtq this resulted in a 1/4 mile time of 12.3 at 112mph, i was very happy with that time so i decided it was time for more power. I came across a deal on this avo that i could not pass up..... to cheap to say, lets just say it was cheap. here is a list of the power mods only...

Turbo back
avo 500
xspower fmic
helix 860
walboro 255
cobb 70mm intake
samco inlet
smc meth
gruppe-s headers
ultimate racing uppipe with 38mm tial EWG
act clutch
cobb acessport
and a few more odds and ends... Well here are the results

380/380 on pump 21 psi

437/425 on 93+meth 26 psi (i havnt even driven it on this map yet, i am still getting controll of the pump map)

My goal when i left my house for the tune was to gain 100 more whp with this turbo and thats just what i got!

i am shooting for mid 11s on meth and i hope to tuch 11s on pump!

Wow if you were running 12.3s before and now you've got 100 more horsepower on the same dyno.. Id say you have a pretty fast car!

That's nice for that turbo. I think 450-460WHP SAE might be possible pushing it with race gas.

At least you got a deal with it, cause that is a 2,600 dollar turbo brand new talk about overrated lol.

Looking good. Your power curve looks very similar to my EWG SR55 power curve. Good job on finding a deal on your turbo - I came across a similar situation when I got my SR55 so I couldn't pass it up, basically dirt cheap.

Just curious, what are you using for boost control (GM, Perrin, Prodrive solenoid controlled by ECU, Electronic BC, MBC...)?

I hope to track the car sometime in March if weather is good.

Numbers are not bad. I always liked that turbo. To bad they are overpriced and if anything goes wrong you are screwed.. Austrailian Business style.

Whats amazing to me is that this car falls off so dang hard past 5500 rpm though. I think that can be tuned to be level. Or I wonder if there is some major blockage thats stopping this car from making power at redline?

Pretty rare (and expensive) turbo. Good size housing for a bolt-on.

your inlet is collapsing at 26 psi or the pump 21 psi map?

I always heard the samcos were the strongest of the silicone variety, but I suppose they all have a maximum limit!

yea well i have the one bar spring in the EWG so the boost is dropping off a little at redline and the fact that the inlet is colapsing might be causing this. i cant wait to get the APS in there. i am dying to run this on the meth map!

And about the rebuilding of this turbo i belive i have found a place that can rebuild this if anything goes wrong.....
