It's just that we're putting cover sheets on the TPS reports now, so if you could just do that from now on it'd be great.

My boss came up with a crazy idea to do these internal evaluations related the NIST Cybersecurity Framework that's going to involve eleventeen or more different Teams calls with various organizations and SMEs. Then got detailed to another project for 3 months and it's all been dumped in my lap before it was barely off the ground.

Fuuuuu...

Got exposed to covid during event over the weekend. Our exposure should have been minimal, the sick folks immediately vacated and isolated, and we cleaned the hell out of everything they may have touched... several times. Everyone stayed outdoors when gathering and masked up indoors.

Got home Tuesday. Figured if we made it to Friday we'd be in the clear.

MrsF4 says she aches all over this AM. Covid test incoming.

Not really a throwback. Covid has been evolving into new variants this whole time. More disturbing is that much like HPV and Epstein Barr it's starting to look like Covid may jumpstart cancer. So we've got that going for us.

Speaking of useless reports.

I run some reports every month around costs, supply chain, lead times, etc. I am supposed to create a powerpoint slide on these reports every month. Nobody ever asks for these reports and if they do ask, they really only care about the total number. So I never bothered to create the reports until last year when it was explicitly listed on my annual goals and I was given a public location to save these files so other people could access them. Dumb, but I complied...mostly. I was only creating the first "dashboard" slide as that had the critical information, showed the trend, and had key messages from that month for the program. This went on for ~16 months.

My boss finally scheduled a monthly review meeting where I could go over my programs and review these reports. I forgot I was cutting corners and went to the review meeting last month with only the first slide. Boss asked point blank why I wasn't doing the rest of the report and I really didn't have a good answer... Whoops.

Next review meeting is on Monday. I should probably start working on those reports soon.

P.S. I think about quitting every single day. My dream would be to get laid off. It's hard to quit when they pay me pretty well. The job isn't horrible. The company is actually pretty good. A different job wouldn't be any better, but it would be different. Have no real reason to want to quit but just don't want to work any more. Can I retire yet?

Thanks.

3 more people are reporting symptoms today as well. 2 of them were not staying in the same house as the rest of us.

It's another testament to how contagious it really is.

We are all vaccinated with current boosters. We sanitized the crap out of everything. Everyone masked up fully the one event we had indoors. Hand sanitizer and Microban was flowing freely.

Fortunately the weather was mild, so we closed off the one hot zone room and opened windows. And everyone else kept all their room windows open the whole time.

Fortunately everyone has had mild symptoms, including several people in their 70s who are getting it for the first time.

I've had a mild headache all day. So much so I would normally ignore it. But now I suspect I'm (getting) sick as well.

Not ideal, for sure. A nice little severance package makes it just a bit more appealing than getting fired and burning that bridge of ever getting rehired here.

Gripe:

People who side-mount sprinklers instead of bottom mount them

Took me 2 hours to dig out and replace one damn sprinkler this morning because I had to dig a massive hole just to unscrew it from the pipe. Was probably installed over 30 years ago as it was, so the dirt was also full of roots making it a pain to dig out

BOTTOM MOUNT YOUR SPRINKLERS PEOPLE!

I don't think any of the ones I've bought have been anything except bottom mount.

But feelz, bro.

Pop-ups taller than 6" generally have a side-mount provision.

I only mount bottoms. Never tried to side mount. It's always a 6 inch mount with me.

Just lost access to my Strava account that I've had since the app launched

Android decided to log me out of the app, I couldn't remember my password, because I probably last logged in close to a decade ago, and the email it sent, once I was locked out, was to a yahoo junk account that was locked out during their data breach back in the 2010s.

Ransom joy: I'll no longer have "25 year old me" segment times pointing and laughing at my 40+ year efforts.
