I have bounced the idea around, but none of that will come into play until we are trying to shave thousandths.
do you believe what john said about rigoli being faster with awd? I don't think us AWD guys are even there yet, where we can say we outlaunch rwd, not even close.

I would rather have rwd on the launch and then switch to awd to stay straight. Someone should try skinnier tires on the front and back and see if we pick up any mph with our aero.

What's your race weight?

Why and with what logic? I have a feeling you're going to bring up the inability that many have when it comes to proper setup for launching an AWD car.
It makes no logical sense to reduce your tractive force when it's most needed.

I do agree with the train of thought of reducing drag, rolling resistance and driveline weight with skinnier tires and letting AWD help keep it straight...but I'm too lazy to do even try to doballpark calcs to see if it has an actual chance or outweighing the wider tires.

Someone, got test it

We have so much left on the table right now I am not worried about the nuances of the current setup we launch hard, run hard and everything feels in balance. If it ain't broke I am not going to fix it.
I expect 8.2-8.3 without changing anything but a little more boost, rev limit and a couple other undisclosed items. Once we get to low 8's i will start try to figure out with the rocket science team of P&L and JR how to be the first 7 sec 4 cyl Subaru

the weight transfer..remember, I do like awd myself too...but I don't know of any data saying that the best awd vs the best rwd equating to a awd win.. I would love to see some info.

Very impressive boys, nice work! It seems that P&L&Junior are getting this while drag racing thing down pat.

BTW what caused the smoke show at the end of the 8.7 pass? I hope she isn't hurt!

Thanks!!

If you read up after the first video I explained we have been having an issue with popping out the front oil pump seal on the trans.

I figured this was going to come back to the discussion that junior and I were having with Andy...If you don't have enough weight on the front wheels when launching there are things that can be done to help that.

time for a new excuse

the bugatti veyron is awd...does that count as a win?

Im not exactly sure how you would compare the 2....get a 300+ mph 4 second top fuel car to convert to awd?

The Veyron's stock numbers (10.2 @ 143) in nothing but win. Until you get to the price tag of 1.6 million

Thats thats where the $70k subaru's / $50k mitsu's / 100k GT-Rs come in

This car is tucking a MT 26/9.5/15 so I don't think we would have an issue hooking into 3rd gear. Like you said, trial and error. We are approaching uncharted territory for a 4cyl subie

Hold the r160 holds up to a few more 1.30 60fts! and GLD sucks for hooking, this car will cut 1.26s on a good track, and even better as we go up in power.
Why don't you use one of the LS outputs on the AEM to trigger a relay that opens a circuit, disabling the DCDD? You can do it VSS based.

What is the final drive ratio on that trans? 3.545?
Who built the converter and what stall?
How many frictions are you running in the reverse clutch 3 or 4?
You can PM if you want

Thanks

Yea that is the game plan when we need to get that last tenth or 2.

Driver needs to get the light down, 54 second and an 8 second pass, is well 1 minute and 2 second to complete the 1/4

as you know, the light(reaction time) doesn't matter at all, unless you are doing an event at the drag strip and trying to win in your class.
