Default Chirping here or there not all the time?

So I recently bought a 2004 WRX non STI and it didnt chirp when I bought it and I didnt know it was supose to. On a random cold day I was parked on a hill and locked it and it chirped and has only done it a few times since then. What could be causing the intermint chirp?

the factory alarm? if so it's a pretty common issue. Most people that I know with a 05 or older seem to have some intermittent issues with the factory confirmation chirps.

There is a thread dedicated to this problem. You may want to search for it, it's a pretty long thread. Someone on there put up a tutorial on how he fixed his and future-proofed it, so it would be less likely to have this problem.
