Default Motorized brush safe on the clearcoat for cleaning BBS brakedust?

I've read many posts on how to keep our BBS' clean from ps21 to eagle one to pressure washing etc.....

It's hard to get in the crevices for the baked in dust and was wondering if the sonic scrubber (Walmart $10, another $10 for 3 accessory pack including soft brush) is safe on the BBS' clearcoat coupled with a cleaner like Meguire's hot wheel cleaner. Will the standard brush be safe? OR do I have to use the optional soft brush.

The pic below shows it being used on an elise or something. So i'm hoping it's alright to use on the bbs. Thanks
