Oh man, one of my favorite scoobs. Mine has been parked for three years. Seeing your car gives me goose bumps and motivation to get my junk back on the road.

Best of luck with the new shop.

It is so good damned refreshing to see a true Bugeye OG keeping on going strong.

Awesome to see an update! 75mm would allow some gnarly wheel tire setups. If you want to bounce some ideas around, I'm all ears and would love to help if you'd like it. Keep it up!

Thanks fellas. Wheel set up is already figured out...

18x10, -5 offset. Offset is approx since I have to see the actual tire's shoulder profile on the wheel. I'll be going with Nitto NT01's, 275/35/18.

I can't wait to see my vision completed! I'm having a really hard time deciding on the color of the wheels though. I liked the car in it's last iteration, with Black wheels, but I didn't get to enjoy it much before it went into the shop, so I figured I'd do Black wheels again.

But the particular Black wheels I'm going with look much better in White, and White screams Rally...so I dunno.

Other thing I'm struggling with is the continued use of my harness bar and a custom x brace for the shock towers, or a half cage.

I was dead set on the half cage, but the traditional X design for the braces going from the top of the main hoop to the strut tower area will greatly impede my vision when looking through the rear mirror, especially if I do the taco plate gusseting on the X part.

I have an alternate half cage idea, that is definitely used in rally and motorsport, that doesn't impeded my vision, and I still get the X with taco plate gusseting somewhere else, so maybe I'll do that.

After all, I do want to actually drive this car when it's finished, so I need to be able to see.

I'm also changing the interior a little. Not sure what's more cost efective - recover the seats I have, or just get new ones...still figuring that out

Stay tuned!

Murray Motorsport has sparcos for around $450 and I would go with a weld in autopower roll bar for simplicity.

I personally have to agree with that sentiment Paulie... The white does in fact scream Rally. It would be White on White though, which I would in general avoid doing. Upkeep on the White wheels will be a certified PITA, and you know would only be worse if you're actually using pads that have a habit of shedding material.

As much as it might sound cliché, I think the best combo for you to be looking at (especially after the rest of your treatments), would be going with either Gold or (even better) a Bronze wheel combo. The White on Bronze in this case would look really........ REALLY..... good. Just my .02 cents Brother.

Seems like your math on the tire sizing and offset should be just fine. You're running 15mm wider on each side than me, so on 18x10, -5 Offset you should be juuuuuust fine on the 275's, even with the slightly taller 35 sidewall.

Can't wait to see the updated pictures!!!

Peace

Gold is definitely a possibility because it says Subaru, and Rally. Bronze is out though as it says more Tuner style.

Of course, it has to be the right shade of Gold also...

We'll see...
