They opened the first restaurant in the city with outdoor rooftop seating.

Its menu consists entirely of "vegan comfort food". Hopefully when they go out of business in 12-18 months a different restaurant worth going to buys the space.

or Vegan Garlic Meatballs, with gravy

Dammit. Stole my idea. Wait, they're IN a building?

I just closed on this lot here in Boston. All I'm going to do is fence it off and call it "Plot". Freshest vegetarian to mouth concept in America...

Listening to my coworkers ohh and ahh over pictures of one of them feeding wildlife (squirrel this time) by hand. "I tried to pet it, but it didn't like that too much."

I wish it disliked it enough to bite him.

Two unrelated gripes today:

At the beginning of this year, the local utility company put up a small solar farm a few miles from my home. I was really excited about that. (call it a random joy)

It went live about 2 months ago. At about the same time, we started getting momentary power blinks early in the AM nearly every day. And our power has been rock solid steady for 2 decades.

It occurred to me this AM that it's happening around sunrise, and I suspect is a result of the power grid switching over to the new solar farm each day. I'm getting really tired of resetting clocks, and having equipment shut down.

=========

Other gripe is people who lolligag down a highway entrance ramp like they are out for a leisurely Sunday drive. They do 35-45mph until they get 50ft from the merge, then their foot finally finds the accelerator and they stomp it trying to instantaneously slot in with 75mph traffic.

Gripe: Not having entrance ramps at all. Just go from stopped to "You're on the highway now, buddy!"

Related gripe: Bus stops on the highway. ****ing whyyyyy would you ever think that's a good idea?

driving catchall and gripe: I eagerly await self driving cars so I can stop wondering who's going to kill me because they're not paying attention. Maybe I'll get one too to push a littler further back me being that **** to someone else. Not wondering if tailgaters are giant ****s, to dumb to not do it, blind or any of the reason that you hope to be true outside of they really are just a big fat sloppy **** of a person.

Not that I want to die in a car crash but I think I would feel better about it if a mindless robot car took me out. Better than someone reading a novel, watching movies, talking on the phone and/or doing their makeup. I can barely operate a touch screen while driving so I have to admit doing making while driving is impressive.

I got bit by a squirrel when I was 3 or 4 years old. That solved my desire to feed wildlife at a young age.

I've determined that next year I'm going to have to be the one who organizes our family vacation.

We used to take turns, but once she stopped working, she was in charge from that point onwards. She's gotten worse each year about it. Used to be done a month in advance. The last three years, she waits until the last minute because we're driving and not on a schedule.

She started looking for places to stay last night. Finding a couple of hotels. No problem, it's a big city with tons of them.

We are supposed to leave today.

Sometime around 11pm last night she started looking at AirBnB type places and found several that would have been fine. I went to bed around midnight and she said she had one more to look at and then she was coming to bed.

I wake up at 2am and she's still on the laptop. "I've just got 2 more I want to look at!"

She finally gets in bed around 3am, and I assume she found what she wanted.

Apparently not. Apparently she expected me to make a decision on one, but didn't communicate that.

We still didn't have any place to stay as of this morning.

I realized that she's slowly become a person who will delay a decision until the last possible moment hoping a better option will come along at the last minute...and then gets mad when a decision is forced due to time constraints or because tge number of options gas been drastically reduced, again, usually from time constraints.

So now we're staying in the hotel we originally had planned on (it was one she wanted), but which she's now less happy with because there were rentals that would have been better, but are no longer available.

Too bad, so sad. As an official "planner" I can't fathom my rate of dealing with that type of mentality.

Thing is, she's a planner too. Or was.

Actually, still is a planner...for stuff she's excited about doing.

But I've noticed for stuff she doesn't want to deal with, she'll procrastinate more and more now. To the point where if it's something that absolutely *has* to be done by 7am the next day, she'll wait until the night before and then stay up all night doing it rather than do a couple of hours a few nights before.

"Leaked" details on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the articles speculating over the possibilities of it having an IR blaster like it's some revolutionary feature.

Bitch, my nearly 5 year old Note 4 has an IR blaster (along with a removable battery and upgradeable SD card).

And other phones have had them off and on as well.

It's called marketing LOL!

I liked the Note4. Something with the processing power and software wasn't quite there for smooth operation IMHO. To me that's the biggest improvement in phones aside from camera performance.

Those are pretty much my only requirements in a phone since everything else will likely not be enough difference in a range of phones to matter to me. "IR Blaster"... do you mean just the light or software?

Ah, never heard 'ir blaster' used like that. I thought it was a brand name and then used mean anything that's an IR repeater. I don't use the phone for a remote much but it is damn nice to have IR onboard. Probably would be a good idea to use it in hotels rather than their remote for sanitary reasons.
