Define " will not come out "?

Does the bolt just spin in place or are you unable to turn the bolt at all?

Like Samurai Jack said.
What do you mean not come out?

Spinning or just not turning?

Bolt head got stripped. Tried to fit different socket, tried to cut slice and unscrew. Nothing so far. The way it sits I can't get a drill to easy out. Any suggestions? Obtw I'm at 115k, should I just pull it and do the head gaskets at same time? Need some help from someone who has been there

Sears, and other places, sells a screw extractor kit for rounded heads, just what you need in the space you have.

If the bolt head is truly toast and will no way fit a socket/wrench, try a good quality vice grip and get it secured on there very well before even thinking of turning it.

If that does not work I would suggest giving something like this a try.
https://www.google.com/express/produ...Fcp8YgodkwsC_A

Hopefully the bolt is one of the upper ones. If not, you may have to lift the motor slightly to get the tool on the bolt head.

Last ditch effort if nothing else works, you may have to cut the head off, then vice grip it when the cover comes off.

There is no reason to do the head gasket unless it's leaking.

Default No need to raise motor?

I was surprised to see that you could get the passenger side bottom bolts out without raising the engine. My mechanic wants $800 to do the VCGs on both side, partly because he thinks he has to raise the motor. I almost think with your thread and photos I can do it myself!

No big deal to raise the engine, pull the pitch stop and both motor mount nuts, big wood block between the oil pan and jack....raise engine.....
Done.
You can pry the engine either way to get more clearance.
Drop motor and reattach motor mount nuts and pitch stop.

Any questions?

You're in Boston, drive to NNJ (07456), I'll do both for $400 P&L for you......and still make money. You drive here and back. I have done that trip many, many times (field service with customers in south Boston, downtown Boston, Waltham, etc......).

Oooooo, that would scare me! Is there a reason why you'd prefer to raise the engine by jacking under the oil pan as opposed to under the tranny?

I ask only because I had to jack up my engine using a block of wood under the tranny (when I was updating my oil pan), and it worked fine. I'd be afraid that putting stress on the oil pan might deform it to some degree and/or cause a leak.

tempting offer! I do go to Dobbs Ferry, NY on a pretty frequent basis and it appears that you are not far from there.

Better to lift on the differential housing. That also allows you to rock the engine side to side.

No need to lift the engine to do this.

As was mentioned by Charlie III and Elbert Bass, it can be jacked up a bit if you run into a problem and need more room.

If you are even moderately handy and have the right tools, most people could do this. If you want, you can even break it up and do one side one weekend, then the other side on another weekend. So you don’t have to rush it.

Could you give me an idea of how much oil I will lose when I do this? I just changed my oil, don't know if I should just wait until my next interval to do this.

1/4-1/2 quart. Enough to make a good mess.

I'm did this gasket on passenger side.
I got all bolts off without moving the engine.
1 or 2 I used a wrench instead of a socket.

A ratcheting wrench would be THE tool, I used a plain old wrench and got the bolt(s) off in a few minutes each.

I did remove the air filter and it's box. Pretty quick and frees up a lot of room.

When applying the RTV sealant, is it best to apply bead from the tube tip, or spread with your finger?
