Hi Everyone,

It's been years since I've actively posted on Nasioc and, after purchasing a new '18 Type RA, I thought it was time to reintroduce myself and share my past GD project. Below you'll find a break down of the GD's build, return to a somewhat stock like state and finally back to a somewhat modded state again.

I'll try and keep this thread updated with things encompassing both cars and I welcome your guy's feedback!

The reason behind the initial parting out of the GD was due to the intent of getting married and simply moving in an overall different direction in my life; however, we plan and God laughs, I ended up not getting married. It was a costly learning lesson, but the silver lining was keeping the GD and saving myself from what would've been a pretty poor choice, on top of parting out the GD to begin with lol.

So I got to work on getting the car back together, Forman Performance handled getting the car mechanically ready to go and Bell's Auto got the car cosmetically back on point.

It started with a fresh new bumper and STi lip and it slowly went from there.

Fast forward a couple of years and the STi had done quite well as a largely stock DD; I started experiencing slight overheating at roughly 42k miles, so I took the STi into McKenna Subaru and was advised that the head gaskets were on their way out. I was pretty upset, largely because the car was quite stock and I didn't exactly beat on the car. If anything I enjoy a little pep in my step, while I'm driving to my office, as opposed to living my life from red light to red light in the most amazing traffic ever.

Upon tear down everything looked quite good, which was at least some good news. I elected to leave the bottom-end alone, have the heads resurfaced, cleaned and then replaced as many parts going back on the car as possible. The main goal was to address some inherent weaknesses, ideally the head gaskets themselves and the oil pickup.... then things just got a little out of control.

Now, on to the new mods for the rebuild!

AMD small battery kit / Odyssey PC680
Beatrush Engine & Transmission Mounts
Cobb Accessport V3
CSF Radiator / Cap
Exedy Hyper Single Clutch Kit
Grimmspeed AOS
Grimmspeed LTW Crank Pulley
HKS Hi-Power Exhaust
Hondata IMG gaskets
IAG TGV Deletes
Injector Dynamics 1050x Injectors w/PNP adapters
Killer B Oil Pickup & Windage Tray
NGK Iridium Plugs
Subaru OEM JDM 12mm Oil Pump
Subaru OEM New belts, pullies, tensioners, rollers, gaskets and water pump
Tomei Turbo Inlet
Tomei V2 Down pipe
Tomei M8265

Tuned at Church Automotive and made 364/364 on pump at 20 pounds, so nothing crazy by any means.

Engine bay shot, prior to battery swap.

Prior to Hondata IMG installation (caught this mid-install of the motor itself lol):

Here's a shot or two of the RA that I picked up last week - April 18, 2018.

Bought it fresh off of the truck, pre-PDI, so please pardon the roof, wing, wheels and anything else that's still covered up.

I had to have it delivered, couldn't leave my office to pick up the car - Empire Towing FTW!
