What's the right exhaust for me?
After reading virus67's post about exhaust systems, I'd like to know what is the right exhaust for me. I too am looking for a light buzz, nothig overbearing, but the only difference is I drive an RS, so I imagine the exhaust for an NA engine is different than that of a turbo charged one(?). As of now, I'm mainly looking for the sound. A complete exhaust cat-back system for horsepower gains is not something I require right now. I believe I only need a muffler for that effect, correct? And I'm not going to be doing this soon, maybe sometime during the summer.

Best sounding exhaust has got to be scooby sprot....there was someone on the boards that had a wav.file. You can get the exhuast from rallyperformance.com
Good luck Wolf |

ScoobySport sounds like the rally cars, so that sounds like a bit much for our friend (light buzz, not overbearing).
In a back-box, there's not really much out there that is a little change. Most muffler replacements give a noticable change commiserate with the price. One option you might want to consider is getting something like a Walker Dynomax turbo muffler installed at a muffler shop. It will cost you much less than an aftermarket back box, and should meet your noise requirements. FWIW, a cat-back that meets your requirements is the STi exhaust. Quiet, but noticable, and a performance boost to boot. |
