![]() I need some help with the shifter bushings for the Baja. I got the Whiteline
Whiteline KDT957 Gearbox - Linkage Selector Bushing kit to get rid of the sloppy side to side action of the shifter. Installed today and still getting about 3" of lateral movement when in gear. Now I see there are more potential bushings to get for the linkage, see HERE for the four bushings that looks like are next on my list (two 35035A and two 35035F). But then I find this linkage replacement with the statement that "The cars prior to this in that 1998 to 2005 timeframe have a linkage that is riveted together and cannot be serviced or upgraded." But per the parts diagram it appears that the bushings are replaceable. So which is it? Who has successfully replaced either the Baja linkage bushings or full linkage? There is a considerable cost difference to getting the linkage if the four tophat bushings will work.

![]() Your halfway there. Replace the joint and bolt on the transmission shift rod. Just buy OEM - the bolt in that kit works on something - but NOT Subaru...
You need: joint 35047AC030 roll/spring pin 633046020 nut 023508000 flange bolt 901000169 (all for 04 Baja) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
