Not impressed but maybe it will look better when wrap comes off. I never did like the current hatch as it either looked like a poser car or in the event of a Type R a full on race car. I particularly disliked the whole back end treatment with the fake air ducts and the front end with the giant black plastic fake air intakes.

By contrast, if you want a front drive hatch back the Mazda 3 is quite an attractive car in my opinion.

They made the roof higher, the windows are bigger, the windshield is bigger, like bubble'ish. The hatch indeed has a very disproportioned shape, the sedan might be able to get away with it though. Either way, we'll know soon enough as the reveal is not that far off.

I'll take bets the Sedan will be very close to the concept introduced on that video/gaming/whatever platform.

The hatch, I think they are trying for a European look and from the renders/drawings I have seen it will look like poo.

No surprise here really, it looks like their concept just like the previous generation CIVIC. At least Honda is delivering on the look they reveal.

It's not a very attractive car but I am sure Honda will sell millions of them.

Want to know details of the Si, will Honda put out an absurd statement like "The most powerful Si ever!"

What's with the swollen upper lip? How could Honda think that looks good? The rear end looks okay but it's pure Jetta.

I don't think it looks ugly at all. Much better than the current model. The car, especially the rear looks very tame, very Jetta-like. Just uninspiring.

The prototype looks good, these pics aren’t flattering though. It’s a Chinese base model in white taken from weird angles, not the Type R.

Definitely looks better than the current/outgoing model. The current one looks too puffy, and I hate all the honeycomb.

Have to agree that the front end is odd. It may have something to do with that hood shut line. But, no monster grill or plethora of fake vents (Type R only exclusive?) makes this OK in my book.

Either way it's **** ugly. The flat hood drives me nuts.

The entire Honda lineup looks pretty homely and this horizontal hood look isn't helping things. Not a single model stands out positively amongst its peers. Toyota has added a bit of style to the RAV4, Camry, Corolla. The Koreans have some daring looking vehicles. Mazdas have an elegant look. Subaru's look inoffensive middle of the road. Even the latest Nissan Sentra looks fairly handsome. I imagine it's not going to matter in regards to sales as there are a lot of Honda buyers that just buy Hondas but if you are in the market and have no brand loyalty I can't seen anyone choosing a Honda based on appearance.

Honda’s value proposition has always been great reliability, fairly sporty handling, affordability, and decent enough looks. Reliability had slipped and some of these new cars are very ugly. They’re still affordable, and the CRV4 I test drove was a lot nicer to drive than the outback I ended up with.
