the type r is pretty loud. There is a sweet spot with the power tho, you have to find the right amount, otherwise it gets all fuzy, and you can't put any more. The type s is more flexible, and can hit just as hard. You can put more power to it.

*pretty sure, correct me if i am wrong.

i plan on getting the type S, cheaper, and everyone says for the money its better.

I am under the impression that Alpine is putting out a sub to compete with eclipse titainiums if you are looking for the best wait a bit til that comes out, the local rep won't say much but she has hinted around this, I'll check to see if they are out yet. I gotta hear them,

I have 2 type r 10" dvc in a sealed box powered by a fosgate punch 700. The subs handle i believe 300 watts rms to 1000watts max. The type s handle less power than the type r. When I bought the subs I had a punch 120 powering the subs pushing about 120watts max and they didnt sound that bad not great but not bad. They sound alot better with the punch 700. Im not sure what the amps you listed push but if they dont push alot id get the type s. I hope this helps you somewhat.

my friend was going to buy 2 12" typeR for his 97 mustang gt and they said that the box would be so big that it would take up most of his trunk
