Default 2009 WRX - HELP with scuffed airdam

Hey guys. I hit an extremely deep pothole last weekend and scratched/scuffed the left side of my front airdam. I wasnt even going 10 mph and it was during that major rainstorm we had on the East Coast.

Anyway, I definitely cannot polish it out, the paint is scraped off...

Any ideas on how I would go about repairing this on my own, while keeping the cost down?

I assume I can buy paint directly from Subaru -if so, what is the best way to go about doing this?

Thanks in advance.

i have the same scuff type. my tire went down into a pothole on a parking lot as i pulled into a spot and i hit a curb just at the wrong level. **** sux . i just left mine. it eats my eyes away idk what to do besides sand a ****load and repaint whole bumper

edit:maybe you can sand down smooth and paint just that section of the bumper making sure to mask off perfectly?

Oh man I had the same thing happen just this week - I had to turn into a parking lot that had a very high incline just off the main road. Got my front and (!) back due to the steep angle...I was VERY mad.

Thanks for the paintscratch.com link as well, I found a few random paint chips that are going to bug me.

I was going to suggest the same process that IIdiceII said, but refer you to automotivetouchup.com. My dad did the same thing with his Legacy so I did those exact steps.

Looks great (for being on the bottom of a bumper). No one will be able to see the taped off line. You should tape it off at that first crease in the bumper so the light will help disguise the slight paint change at that angle point.
