JDM Spec-C One Piece Intake Manifold on 07 Sti
Just saw this manifold on Rallitek for the WRX. I can't post links yet.
Will this work on the 07 Sti since it uses top feed injectors? Thanks for the help. |

Apparently the 07s are top feed after all...

Wow, I had no idea that they changed the injectors to top feeds in 07. I stand corrected.
I do agree with you on the bolt pattern. If that manifold is for a drive-by-wire throttle body, then it should work. |

I don't think it is made for DBW. Is there a JDM 1 piece manifold that was made for DBW?

Awesome thread!
I have done this conversion on my 05 STi and here are the issues that pertain to YOUR car since you already have top feed injectors. 1.) You will need to have an adaptor bracket machined and welded on the throttle body opening. The reason for this is clearance. The DBW throttle body needs extra clearance than the DBC throttle body. 2.) You will need either the fuel rails from the new intake manifold OR a set of aftermarket fuel rails WITH an adaptor bracket. If you decide to go the aftermarket fuel rails option, PM me and I can point you in the right direction on where to buy these adaptor brakets. If you decide to just use the JDM rails then you will NOT need the brackets. 3.) TGV codes will come up. I am not certain how they affect the 07 STi as opposed to the 02-03 wrx vs 04-06 turboed subies. Most likely, you will just need to have the TGV codes disabled. In the past for the 02-03 WRX, TGV deletes were a PITA and you had to either get the APS crap or just buy an aftermarket boost controller to take boost control away from the ECU. in 04 subaru changed that and all 04-06's just need the codes disabled with no ill affects. If you have any other questions you can PM me. I can also send you pics. YWIA. |

Thanks for the information. This step is what concerns me though. It would probably be easier to just have my TGVs deleted. Too bad there isn't a manifold like this for the DBW model.

The JDM STI Forester intake manifold uses DBW which is a direct fit for the USDM STI at least for the 04-06. Otherwise you may have to use your top feed fuel rails from you 07 Sti.

Also, does anyone know about the V9 STi spec-C manifold that is supposedly DBW friendly?

Not to bring back a dead thread, but I dont see a need to start a new one.
Can you use the Spec C intake manifold with the Gruppe S adapter and WRX topfeed injectors/rails on a 257 shortblock? (assuming your tuned for it of course) |

Short block is not the issue, its the TB, so if your car is a WRX then you have a pretty easy solution, its guys with 04-06 sti that have an extra issue with the TB, and the 07sti guys just have to deal with the TB. There maybe some other little things involved even when using the manifold on a WRX but sounds like the vender's have that figured out.

Ok, I have searched, but I can't find the bracket that makes this manifold work with DBW throttle bodies. Can I get a link anyone? Also, maybe a dumb question, but the rallitek website says this will only work on 2.0L engines, and obviously thats not the case since blinguskahn did this on his 2.5L 05 STI. Why would they say for 2.0L only?

if you are going to get this manifold might as well get some parallel fuel lines also like the perrin ones...if you order this from gruppe-s they will give you the bracket for free but it usually takes 3 months or so to come in if it even does come in

will those work with it? rallitek has the spec-c fuel rails for 250.
edit: after looking, I dont think the perrin ones will work, although that would be hawt. Last edited by Suby Noob; 04-07-2009 at 07:28 PM. |

To do this right we just need to wait till subaru makes a Spec C Manifold for the 08/09's since they are DBW. So far nothing is one piece. Next best solution is what i picked up was JDM TGV housings. No holes fully factory ported tgv's.

Yea, I saw those on the rallispec website for 155. They may be the best alternative, then you dont have to mess with the fuel rails. After looking at the perrin unit though, that sure would be nice.

I really like the TGV deletes Grimmspeed does. I'd take them over the JDM deletes. About the same price if you return the cores. Got mine thermal coated black.

The grimmspeed units are simply USDM riser that are machined by hand correct? The plus there is that you do not have to elongate the holes to make them mate up with the manifold.
