Default Bought an STi, came to the dark side.

At least coming from the Mustang world that I was in.

I got a 2004 black STi with 46,500 miles on it. TurboXS TBE, TurboXS front mount, springs, racing clutch, and cobb protuned at 322 at the wheels (350+ ft/lbs).

http://s196.photobucket.com/albums/aa104/FalconGuy016/ pictures show my totalled mustang (hitting a bear on the highway) and the new car.

I was wondering though I heard that the 04's were different from the rest of the STi's in that the transmission have synchro problems, the suspension was more like a WRX than a newer STi, and that the wheels were skinnier. I do have a small grind getting into 5th gear if I am downshifting or if I'm going WOT, I hope that won't be a problem.

My rear struts seem to clunk a lot too. I heard this might be a common problem as well?

What I'm really worried about is the transmission though, is this something I can deal with?

Thanks

Edit: Last night I lost the trim piece on the front right portion of the bumper. It's a small cover piece with the splitter built into it, like the tiny spoiler. It's mostly on the right side of the car, not the front. It was missing most of it's push pins and it simply fell off. The damage from falling messed it up bad cosmetically so I'll have to get a new one, but I can't figure out what it's officially called or where I could get it the cheapest, does anybody know?

Damn a bear!?!

Congrats on the purchase. I just came from a '98 Cobra and even though I loved the Mustang, I beginning to love my Scoob just as much. The go-fast bits are endless here!!

In practical terms this STi is better than my mustang in pretty much every way. But nothing will ever be that mustang I will miss it. And I will miss v8's.
