Default Struts!

Ohhk my struts are blown, due to my sweet S-Tech's... I have an 05' WRX, everywhere I look only carries 02-04 WRX struts! I cant find anyone who carries ones for 05! I called hopupracing.com, they said that there are no aftermarket struts for 05. Im just looking for a good set of struts for my 05, that will fit of course. I guess I could order a set of coilovers , but im not in the mood to drop a grand or more! If you can, point me in the right direction to a set of good struts besides the p.o.s OEM ones. Gracias...............

How long did your stock struts last with the teins? The car I just picked up is setup the same way and I was wondering today if that might be an accident waiting to happen...

You shut your mouth when your talking to me! I dont want to drop the money on coilovers! I never go to the track, EVER... Sooo why the heck should I pay $1200-1500 for a good set of coilvers if I will never use them to their full potential? Why dont you buy a W R X ?

afaik. wrx struts are exactly the same 02-05. STi struts change in 05 due to the 5x114 hub. im not 100% but i believe all wrx struts are the same no matter what the year... but i will have to check on that to be sure.

Thanks James, I have been told the same also... I just want to make sure before I go on and buy a set. I bought a set from hopup a couple weeks ago. And I was wondering why I hadnt received them yet, so I called today and they told me they wouldnt fit? Soooo I guess I will just have to make a couple calls to make sure.

RCE's are the shat. I had them on stock struts (oops...) on my WRX. They lasted about 10 months, but good God was that a good 10 months of autocrossing / Virginia mountain roading. Pair them w/ a beefier set of struts, and I think you've got just about the best springs you can put on a WRX.

Are there any KYB AGXs that fit an 05? They are fairly cheap and yet good struts from my experience.

Yup... in fact, that was what I was going to do, until I got a chance to get my STi I found a set of stock '05 WRX struts laying around a buddy's garage, put them on the WRX w/ my stock springs, sold off the RCEs, and traded it in for the STi.

wagon struts are different in the rear. you want sedan struts unless you have a wagon.
and correct the tophats are different, so use your stock ones no matter what you get unless you get better ones for your MY car
