Thanks Man, I've scrolled through this thread many times and somehow missed the posts about that car. Just finishing reading two years worth of posts on this thread and my head hurts. lol

So just to make this clear, this car's wheel wells were tubbed, along with supporting suspension geometry changes in order to run extremely low? Otherwise these flares on a regular car with non tubbed wheel wells would look silly. Correct?

No one knows what the v2s will look like. Karlton hasn't decided. But they will be wider. Got to be hush hush so companies don't steal this one as well

I totally understand that. I'm sure he knows that the days following the V2 release there will be companies copying his molds. Just the way things are. Everyone knows nothing is as good as the original.

I'd love to have a Rocket Bunny kit on my 2004... Use my car as a donor please!!! I'll pay for paint, and it'll put my butt into gear to finish the front tubs and wire tuck!

Cause I'm sure D would love to see his stuff in a magazine again...

Correct, along with major body sugary around the rear doors and steering geometry changes.

No, not that I have ever seen or heard of, but then again that's not saying all that much . It's one of Can-Jam's cars (not owned by them though) and there are a lot of their proprietary race team modifications they are not willing to share on the car. There was an article about it on MotoIQ called "Steve's STI - Doing it right" but for some reason it's no longer on their site (any link to it just goes to their home page, even their internal link). Can-Jam isn't a normal shop, they are a race shop and support their race team cars (road race and rally) over everything. They only take on a select few projects off the street a year. This car is part of their race team, hence why they are so tight lipped about it.

From what I know about it, 90% of what has been done is either custom or Can-Jam proprietary. They are so secretive about the details that they won't even tell you what it's actual dyno numbers are...they just smile and say "450". It makes you wonder what the real numbers actually are.

From what they have let people know about it, this is what I know:

- '04 STI.
- 5x114 conversion.
- Engine built to Can-Jam's specs, 2.5L, custom pistons, stok rods nd crank, 14mm rally head studs, custom cams, high flow Cosworth heads with +1 valves, rotated Borg Warner S300XS turbo (not sure of A/R or if single or twin scroll), rotated Cosworth intake, top mount oil cooler, FMIC, Koyo rad, water/meth injection, stand alone ECU, dual Bosh 200 L/h fuel pumps with surge tank, 1200 cc injectors, VP Racing race fuel.
- A/C removed.
- Custom exhaust.
- FIA homologated roll cage.
- Gutted interior.
- Rear seat delete.
- Custom DSS axles.
- StopTech Trophy front BBK, stock rear brakes.
- 4" drop.
- Heavily modified Karlton fares and body to accommodate 4" drop.
- All 4 corners tubed.
- Custom Can-Jam suspension mounting point relocation.
- Custom MSI rear sub-frame to accommodate 4" drop.
- Steering geometry modified for 4" drop.
- Gas filler/door relocated to accommodate drop and flares.
- Monstrous swaybars (I don't know exact size or brand, but they are massive).
- Cusco LSDs front and rear.
- JDM 5th and 6th gears.
- APR GTC-3000 rear wing.
- Custom front splitter and dive planes (canards).
- Prodrive rally hood vents.
- Hotbits coilovers custom valved to Can-Jam's specs with Swift (I think) springs.
- Custom top hats made to Can-Jam's specs.
- All suspension mounting points are either heim joints (spherical bearings) or polly bushings, ball joints changed to heim joints.
- 18x10.5 et15 RPF1s with 295/30 Yoko A050s.

There's probably a lot more but either I don't know or they aren't saying anything.

I'm fairly certain that this is accurate, but don't quote me as I heard this second hand, not from Can-Jam themselves. There is a lot available from photos of the car as well, but I hope this answers your questions (at least some of them anyway ).

But anyway, we are getting sidetracked....because picture thread...

How low do you have your car? Did you need to flare them or did you do it for looks? I love the way this looks but I'm already having issues with rubbing and I don't want to get spacers.

You would need a 05+ sti rear bumper to run it on a non sti. Or get bugeye rears they kinda fit. And I'm not 100% if the v1s are back at this point In time but give him a message.
