womp womp wobble wobble.

i had the idea of doing a built h6 swap with a nice 6266 or bigger with a 6spd. but have decided to stick with a ej2#. slowly selling off things from the car that i wont be needing or upgrading. injectors are gone, dp is long gone, gotta sell this hta68 and grimmspeed up tial 38 setup. havent decided whether to go with a forward facing setup or a standard rotated kit either way it will most likely be a 6266. my heads are currently still at the machine shop getting lots of love, like actually being ported and a valve job that actually seals. not sure which direction to go with block, lost whether to try again with a 205 or finally step up to a 2.5 block, if 2.5 it will most likely be a destroker.

in the meantime, concentrating on getting my renovations finished up and working on other peoples car to help fund the new build.. K&W Motorsports FTW!

Followed this thread from the start as I have a VF34... Have you considered a EJ207 with a 6 speed swap? I'd love to see how far you could push that.

i could do that, but i would probably end up building the 207 motor before i used it, at that point i might as well just go with the 2.5 block built. i still want to see how far i could go with the 205. i think a properly built 205 will put up some really good numbers. i mean i ran 121 mph on a motor that had some issues, with only 22 psi being limited by the id1000s on e85. i think this time around my motor will be built with properly machined parts.

So i think i have a plan. it has a couple steps but the end result will be where i want to be at. Main goal now is to get my car driving again. I've played the idea of getting a stock motor and small turbo, but i kinda see that as both wasted money and time. so hear me out on this one. i pretty much can get my built 205 back together relatively easy and not too much money. so i could put that back together and have a built motor. now for turbo, i want to end up rotated so i figure do it now instead of later, trying to avoid having to do things multiple times. so how bad does a 6262 sound on a built 205 on e85. nothing crazy just like 18-20 Psi. next is the stock 5spd well lets hope that it will stay around till a 6spd can be put in with a built 2.5.

so to recap built 205 with stock 5spd and rotated 6262 at 18-20 Psi on e85. for now.

built 2.5 with 6spd later.

So what is the opinion on the go rotated with big turbo now so i can drive. instead of having to buy another stock location turbo setup.

Decent price bump, and iirc 6262 has more power potential, with later spool.

AWD motorsports made 700whp with the hta3582 and it doesn't fall apart .

I would just run a 6262 for cost efficiency, but it can't rain on Carmi forever.

6262 is a bad azz turbo, I forgot the max that someone made with one, could've sworn it was in the 800's.

I like the HTA35r for the spool, why not get the HTA86 it makes more than the 6262 and it will spool faster. I don't know if the new CTA wheels are that much better. Yes the precision turbos are cheap but they are not known for the reliability.

I'm just guessing (not as familiar with our cam's on that 2.0) that it sounds about right what you say(comparing to some old 2.0 35r setups, ~5krpm) If you can rev to 9k, then it's going to be one fun ride, hard to drive well; but i'm sure you will be able to take care of that.

you can always try and do a t4 twin scroll 6262 and short runners with larger id custom manifold...$$$$$

The quick spool valve could be an option too It really is a great idea...

or just 'run what ya brung'

Karl,

Have you looked at any of the Holset options? Or am I speaking a different language entirely?
