pioneer 4200 yes, but if you really want to know, most good aftermarket radios use the same colors.......

Not too long. Sometime between 7-12 seconds? I've never found the startups to be long at all.

can you elaborate on what you mean by the maestro interferes with the cobb access port? Does the AP not work anymore? Can you not plug it in? Sorry new to this.

The AP doesn't view gauges anymore. It freaks out and toggles between "trying to connect to car" and "not connected". Once I disable the headunit from trying to read the Maestro the AP works. Or ally again.

Sorry for you jonizzzle

I'm glad I followed your advice to go with the half price less expensive SW since I already have an AP always connected

Yeah no problem! SW is the way to go. I played around with the gauges a few days after the initial installation and haven't used it since.

Default Cobb Access port

When you say it interferes with it, can you be more specific? I am planning on upgrading my head unit, and running the car. Thanks!

it interferes at the point that there is two units trying to read the same info.... so they butt heads........

Hey jonizzle, awesome setup you got going on! If I just use my AP to flash tunes and don't use it to monitor gauges or anything it should be fine right? And when you refer to disabling the headunit from trying to read the Maestro is that something easily done through the software? or are you physically unplugging? If the radio was off would the AP work? Thanks!!

Hey guys, couple of questions (awesome thread BTW): 1. you mention no nav in the unit... but you can still get nav through carplay/android auto correct? 2. If I am not tuning the car, so I need the iDatalink Maestro RR? Seem expensive, but I believe I saw mention of a cheaper alternative? I would (obviously) like to retain the steering wheel controls.

Thanks again-- looking forward to giving my car a deserved audio upgrade.

Maestro SW= no data between radio and vehicle, strictly for steering wheel control only

Maestro RR= Full data to radio with compatible radio. Includes gauges on screen, steering wheel control, back up camera wiring, and soon to follow with vehicle info and tpms (will need to get a upcoming t harness to get tpms or vehicle info)

Maestro SW is about half the cost of the RR

So there is no way to retain a USB in the console?

Awesome and thanks for the info-- so will I need a separate harness/connection for the backup camera if I go with the SW, or is it simply unavailable with this setup?

if you do the SW you will need to wire in your own 6 volt output to the camera power wire.

The RR is internal, and one wire coming out of it is 6 volt with ACC on, due to some newer radios allowing you to turn the camera on while driving

Will the TPMS show tire pressures for each wheel on a '17 WRX? What is the ETA of the harness? Maestro does not have an existing harness at all for the WRX, right?

I have a 4200NEX incoming and want to know if its worth the wait, or if I should just get the SW (the TPMS feature may push me to the RR).

That's great news! I have an Alpine HU installed and an RR waiting to go in. If this is the case I'll just hold off for that harness and live without my steering wheel controls for a bit longer.
