Do they have a spectator area? Or is everyone on their own?

It's been years since I have went up for one.

they do have a "spectator stage" which is a track set up at Yavapai County Fairgrounds. But i suppose if you wern't a jackass about it, you could just get maps of the rally from the rally homepage and just go hang out. they ushally are pretty chill about it, especially car enthusists, we have enough common sense to stay off of the track...
i am excited!

Yeah i figured those were the options. They used to have spectator spots on the regular road stages back in the day. Probably became a liability problem.

True that the PV Raceway / Fairgrounds is the only spectator area. Will be run as the first and last stages of each day.

A nice way to get yourself a private spectating area out on the stages is to volunteer to work a road block.

As with many other events, this year entries (28 so far) are a bit down from last year (32). Still have 8 or so Open 4WD class cars...including an Escort RS Cosworth...

yep thats what i am doing, working a road block. i have done it a couple of years now, its pretty sweet. i am dissapointed at this years entry list cause like you said it is down. i thought it wouyld acually be a better turn out. that escort cosworth is blazing fast! that thing is so so sick. but i think number one speed rated is still that lancer right

That Escort Cosworth is simply beautiful!

Seamus Burke, Wolfgang Hoeck, and George Plsek are all blazingly fast in EVO's.

DO NOT underestimate AZ locals Brian Scott and Doug Chernis in their subies... Brian's STi is among the most well prepped I've ever seen. Kevlar fender liners make it even faster.

And Leon Styles is his RWD Escort is always a crowd pleaser!

Hope to see ya'll out there! I'll be doing timing at the North end of First View Fri/Sat, and the East end of Perkinsville Sat. Camping out with some other diehard stage workers near Perkinsville Fri night...

Doug posts on this board occassionally, so if he reads this before the event good luck!

Last I saw, Doug had a blaze yellow bugeye....yeah, I know he occasionally is on the board. ;-) Brian's STi is an '05?

Yep, Best Western Prescottonian is the HQ, though most activities start out at the PV Raceway (Yavapai County Fairgrounds) this year.

Mustafa is, well, Moose...we get along great despite that. (coming from a Greek). At least we both agree upon good Tequila

Drove all the stages today (staking out Starts, Finishes, and road blocks)...light rain seen, and more possible for tomorrow...stages are looking very fast, with a couple rough sections along the way!

Seeya all, Brent.

well the rally was pretty awsome. the roads were really rough this year. i think it took its tole on the cars as about half as many were present today as there was yesterday. i will post some pics when i get them on here/ i was kinda disapointed at the pace of some of the cars. i would smoke them in my geo.
overer all it was a good time. i will post more info later but now i am tired, its bed time!
