Depending on what you use for wax the PC can be a great tool.
can the PC also be used to wax? Or is it just a polishing machine?

you can use the PC for waxing as well (works best with liquid waxes eg. Adam's Buttery Wax)

Is there any way, short of power buffing the windshield to get rid of the outline that appears outside the wiper region? Even on sunny days when not using the wipers, it seems the region outside the wiper's area picks up dust and what not a lot more then the area that gets cleaned by the wiper.

Normal glass cleaner isn't cutting it...

I was wondering how I make my headlights clear again. They have started to fog/haze over and I am looking into making them clear again? Thanks.

You can try cleaning the window with your window cleaner and then use this polish : http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...ROD&ProdID=131

Justin,

You can try hand polishing them but that might take a while you can use a PC and step down the polishes from aggressive to final polish.

Your website says you can mix the polish with the swirl and haze removal. Is that recommended or is it supposed to be one before the other?

yes depending on the level of cut that you need, you can go with swirl followed by revive or you can go with a mix of swirl and revive. Depends on what you have to fix. Let me know if that helps.

that helps. I only have a few spots that have some haze so would i only use the swirl and haze on those spots and the revive for the rest? The rest of the car doesnt need too much attention.

BigD54 a good rule to follow is always go with the least aggressive polish on a small section and work you way to a more aggressive polish to compound.

So for your small spot try Adam's Revive Polish, then mix Revive and Swirl, and if that doesn't work try swirl alone.

daggah,

are they scratches or is it etched paint, can't really tell? If they are scratches you might be able to clean it up a bit same with etchings...however it also looks like something caked on the paint. let me know what you think it is and if you can get closer shots that may help.

They're scratches in the paint...I'm not sure what caused them, my car came like this. But I can definitely feel the dips in the paint as opposed to a raised surface if something was caked on.

Here's a cropped section of that same photo from before me scaling it down:

I used a bunch of different tire glazes over the past summer to see what worked best. I found out there are some really crappy slinging ones out there. One tire glaze I used slung up alot and I was not able to wash my car for a week but when I finally did wash it there was a yellowing in my CGM paint where the tire glaze stuck to my car for that week. I tried everything Meguiars (polish, paint cleaner, clay bar and even Goo Gone) but nothing worked. Any suggestions?

i never really detailed before, always just washed my car with the so called car washes out there. but now i really wanna be able to do it myself, so i do it all by hand, or use the porter cable. the paint its pretty mint minus some rock chips but thats what highway driving does. should i invest in a detail kit (ie the adams kit) or just start off with a few simple products?

Thanks

the adam's detail kit is a great start, its got all the basic products plus a dvd and cheat sheet, this is a good base to grow on.

I would consider using Adam's VRT for the dressing you wont get sling anymore....I've been using this for over 2 years and this product does not sling. It also gives a matte finish.

As for the discoloring do you have pictures?

The porter cable is a great investment, it will definitely give you better results. is it worth it I guess it all depends on what you need to do.
