Default What year STi did NOT have secondary air pump?

As far as I can tell, the 2006 STi did NOT have the dreaded secondary air pump that the WRX had. In 2007, Subaru put the air pump system on all cars.

Can anyone confirm this for me? Been looking for the info online but coming up short ..

Just look under your hood. I know for sure that the 04 and 05 STi do not have any "secondary air pump". Almost sure about 06 but think the 07 might have. I think they put it in the 08 model and after, but not 100% sure. If I'm not mistaken, the 2007 STi (even though the 06-07 should have been the same) the 07 had some weird stuff changed to it.

I think I might have read somewhere that with the 07 STi, the first half the year production was same as 04-06, but later in 07 they went all cray cray with it.

To my knowledge, which is somewhat reliable since I've owned 2 07 STi's, they all came with top feed injection and V heads. And the air pump. I've never heard anything about half a year being different than the other.

Wrx’s got them in 06 when they went to the 2.5, sti’s kept them out 04-06 07 got the single pump, and 08-21 had the dual setup. The 07 is the only motor to use the v25 head.
