Lordy, 14 seconds? I think my old focus svt could have done that.

Not bad for an 11 year old car, crazy to think that in a year or two your gonna have that 50-100 down to the sub 5 second range.

Do you plan on getting rid of the wing, its the only fugly bit of the car

Your builds are pretty sick kid. You were a large part of my inspiration to make the switch to e85 which I'll be doing next week. E85 for this one too?

I have this sick desire to see you build this motor to rev out to the moon with a 6466 and a 75mm crank.

Welcome back to FI!

Xluben, can I ask why you decided to run Grimmspeed's new dp rather than say a Cobb? I was going to pull the trigger on the Cobb dp catted but I believe GS'z catted dp for the 08+ will be out in the next month or 2.

Followed your other thread almost religiously and loved every bit of it. Can't wait to see what you do here and maybe I'll finally get some inspiration to start working on my bugeye again.

Yeah, I think it did pretty well for a stock WRX. Especially one with this mileage. But the 50-100mph time should be coming down very soon.

I would like to get rid of the wing. I wouldn't say it's a top priority, but I would definitely expect it to happen eventually.

No, wasn't a real big concern at purchase because the motor will be replaced anyways.

Yes, it will eventually be E85. There is no reason not to.

The GrimmSpeed DP is a step above nearly all the competitors. The build quality is really, really good. It is more on par with something like Full Race. I'll have more detailed reviews up of the parts soon.

Thanks. So far the new car has been a bit frustrating (way more rust and other hiccups that have made seemingly simple mods take a lot longer than they should) but I hope it will be a fun car and a fun project long term.

Xluben, what happened with the hatch? Is this just another ride to your collection or a replacement? I loved your other thread, silently followed it for a while. Good luck with this one!

The hatch is gone. This is the new project. I have a 2012 Forester for daily driver duties.

Thanks! It's decent. Nothing is falling apart. Could use a good cleaning though.

Ahhh yes!!! I'm so glad I found this thread and am able to jump on the Xluben band wagon early! This looks impressively clean. Is it a MN car? I know you said you didn't have to ship. Even with what you've said about the body, it looks extremely nice for 185k. I am looking forward to how this turns out. Well played my friend!

The previous owner was from southern MN, but I'm not sure where it was before that. It is in pretty good shape, but probably not as perfect as it may seem in photos. It has a few dings here and there.

I do nothing to modify the photos to hide any defects. They are just not that evident in quality photos. This car has way more dings and dents than the 2011. The 2011 had swirls but not enough to really bother anyone but the car show type. Most of the locals thought I had one of the cleanest cars around because I went through the drive through wash on a regular basis. It's all a matter of standards I guess. Also this car is silver so it's way harder to notice minor paint flaws.

way harder to notice paint problems in silver.

how many dings? enough to warrant PDR? you should get some of those cool JDM bandaid stickers for the dings and scratches.
