Joe, I think Tire Rack has BFG G-Force T/A
KDWs in that size for about $103. Too bad the Kumhos don't come in that size. |

KDWs in 215/50/16 are only V-rated? Do these tires really live up to the G-Force name?
So far I've heard 3 reviews of them, but nobody has been thoroughly impressed. |

Well, what would perform better, a W rated tire like the Kumho 712 in 205/50/16 or the KDW in 215/50/16 ? So far the Kumhos have gotten rave reviews from Imprezzers...

ONLY V-rated?!?! What, Tim, is 149mph too slow for you :rolleyes ? LOL! Isn't V the same as Z and then W (168 mph) and then Y (186 mph) is tops? What an odd order.
OK, OK, I guess you meant a v-rating is low for a G-Force? |

Hey Joe,
No they will not rub, I have had them (BFG G-Force KDWs in 215/50/VR16) on my car for about 10,000 miles now....Clearance between the inside sidewall and the rear strut is very tight, about a fingers width (my wifes finger width anyhow)but absolutly no signs of them ever making contact....I like the tire too, its been a very good comprimise between wet and dry traction. Their are probably better dry tires, but I've been very satisfied with their performance in both conditions...Hope this helps... ~Scott Rally Blue MY99 Owings Mills, Md. |

Well, now that I have the turbo, hitting the revlimiter in 5th gear isn't all that hard...
I thought that V rated was up to 149 mph and Z rated was 149+ mph. In any case, I checked tirerack's website and they listed the KDW as Y rated which would be the highest, and would be what I expect. I'd be mad if I saw 215/50YR/16 listed on the website and then 215/50VR/16 shipped to my door. Not that it makes any really big difference, but it would constitute false advertising. |

Hey Tim,
My Apologies, the tires are ZR rated, but definetly not YR as the TireRack's site says. Sorry about any confusion... ~Scott Rally Blue MY99 Owings Mills, Md. |
