News EJ22 turbo into '99 outback 2.5?

So I recently wrecked my turbocharged (VF11) 2.2 '96 Legacy, and the engine is still fine, so I plan on swapping the 2.2 into a '99 Legacy outback that I found on craigslist because I read here https://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum...inder-engines/ that the '99 Legacy outback is a phase I engine. Is this true despite the outback's engine being a DOHC 2.5? My car is frankensteined together in such a way that it uses the 2.5 ecu, the heads are Ts from '94 and the block is from '91-94. I have notes from the previous owner who built it for more information.
I'm going to look at and possibly pick up the outback tomorrow, but I figured I'd ask the experts first if I'd be in over my head trying to make the '94 2.2 engine fit into a '99 outback. I've performed engine swaps across 2.2s before but that's the extent of my experience; I haven't done a conversion like this before. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
